Background : primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC) is one of the common malignant tumor in the world. It severely impairs human health. PHC etiology and the pathogenesis has not yet entirely clear. In modern medical science, the occurrence of PHC is related to hepatitis viruses, cirrhosis of the liver, aflatoxin B, algal toxins, water pollution and so on.Under the guidance of the theory of the traditional Chinese medicine, Emotional diseases is a pathogenic point which one with Chinese etiological characteristics. TCM reveals that the occurrence of PHC is closely related to the emotional injuries which cause long stagnation and complex pathology of phlegm stasis. Objective:The research methods used in this research are case control method. The quantitative score of emotional factors can be calculated with QAS and LES. Then we can discuss the relationship between the pathogenesis of PHC and TCM emotional factors in depth. Methods:A hospital-based case-control retrospective study was conducted among sixty PHC patients and sixty healthy. The subject was enrolled at the Tumor Hospital of Shanxi from April 2015 to Deeember2015.Two groups filled the same scale involved Life Events Scale(LES) and Qiqing Assessment Scale(QAS).The subject was interviewed face to face by investigator based on the contents of the questionnaires. The statistical Processing used the SPSS13.0 to test the different type of data with t-test, chi-square test and non-condition factor Logistic regression.Results:1. The average age difference between the two groups was not statistically significant. And the two groups were comparable(P>0.05). The average age of PHC patients was(46.08 ± 9.318) years and the control group was(44.13 ± 10.072) years. 2.The general conditions difference between the two groups was not statistically significant. And the two groups were comparable(P>0.05). Generally including gender, nationality, residence, education level and occupation. 3. Single factor regression analysis, negative life events include the work pressure, economic pressure and family health problems are associated with the development of primary hepatic carcinoma. 4. Multiple analysis shows that the pressure of work and economic are the important risk factors for the development of primary hepatic carcinoma, the OR values are 20.751,15.363.5. There is significant difference between the two groups in joy, anger, worry, anxiety, grief, fear and panic(P<0.05). And the average score of PHC group in anger, worry, anxiety and grief are significantly higher than the control group. 6. Single factor regression analysis, anger, worry, anxiety and grief are associated with the development of primary hepatic carcinoma.7. Multiple analysis shows that anger is the important risk factor for the development of primary hepatic carcinoma, the OR values is 16.382.Conclusion:TCM emotional factors are closely associated with the development of PHC.1. The PHC patients being diagnosed at five years who in the work pressure, economic pressure and family health problems are associated with the development of primary hepatic carcinoma. Especially the first two factors are related to the occurrence of PHC.2. The strength of experienced negative life events the PHC patients is higher than the control group. The negative life events mostly are moderate and severe.3. The PHC patients being diagnosed at five years who clearly showing irritability, anxiety, thinking and more sad tendency.4. Before the onset of PHC patients who encountered negative emotional mostly are moderate and severe which include anger, worry, anxiety and grief four factors.5. The frequency of experienced negative emotional the PHC patients who diagnosed at five years ago is significantly higher than healthy people. It prompts that irritability, anxiety, thinking and more sad are related to the occurrence of PHC.6. Especially anger is a major risk factor for the development of PHC.
