The incidence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) increases so rapidly in China. Oxidative stress caused by atmospheric pollutants plays a domina nt role in the pathogenesis of COPD.Nrf2 is a key transcription factor for regulatin g human redox state, induction of Nrf2 can resist COPD lesions caused by antioxid ants and poison.In previous work,we evaluated the induction effect of Nrf2 and prot ection of human bronchial epithelial(HBE) cells induced by exogenous toxicant,the result indicated that the extracts of Cinnamomum camphora potently induced Nrf2 pathway,thus the plant has been phytochemically investigated to obtain Nrf2 inducer s from natural resources.A total 29 compounds obtained by the extraction through 75% ethanol and column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 together with preparative HPLC.With the aidof thin-layer chromatography to identify the purity o f the compounds,the structures were determined on the techniques of1H-NMR and13C-NMR.And it will be significative for the further development and application of Cinnamomum camphora.Twenty-nine known compounds were isolated from the PE and Et OAc parts o f ethanol extract of Cinnamomumincluding,six phenolic acids:vanillin(1),syringaldehy de(2),5- hydroxy ethyl salicylate(3),protocatechuic acid(4),protocatechualdehyde(5),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(6);two phenylpropanoids:eugenol(7),trans-4,5-dimethoxy-3-hy droxycinnamaldehyde(8);one anthraquinones:1-hydroxy-3,6-dimethoxy-8-methyl-anthra quinone(9);eight lignans:(-)-(7R,7’R,8R)-acuminatolide(10),piperitol(11),(-)-med ioresinol(13),(+)-epipinoresinol(14),(7α,7′α,8α,8′α)-3,7-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxy-7,9:7,9-diepoxylignane(15),sesamin(16),(7α,7β′,8α,8′α)-3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-3,4-methylenedioxy-7,9:7,9-diepoxylignane(12),magnolone(25);two flavonoids:querc etin(17),6,7,4’-trimethoxyflavone(18);three flavanols:dihydrokaempferol(21),(2S,3S)-3’- hydroxy-5,7,40-trimethoxy-flavan-3-ol(20),(_)-(2R,3R)-5,7-dimethoxy-3′,4′-methylen edioxy-flavan-3-ol(19);two coumarins:6,7-dimethoxycoumarin(22),scopoletin(23);a steride:β-sitosterol(29);one chromene:(3R,4R,3′R,4′R)-6,6′-dimethoxy-3,4,3′,4′-tetrah ydro-2H,2′H-[3,3′]bichromenyl-4,4′-diol(24);one monoterpene:4,7-octadien-2-one,6-hy droxy-6-methyl(26);one sesquiterpenoid:3S-(+)-9-oxonerolidol(27);one fatty acid:4- carbonyl- 17 carbonic acid.
