| Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the Yiqi Juanyin Formula in the treatment of malignant pleural effusion due to advanced lung cancer. To discuss the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating malignant pleural effusion due to advanced lung cancer.Methods:60 patients suffering from advanced lung cancer and meeting the standard are randomly divided into two groups: control group and study group. Each group has 30 patients.All patients are treated by thoracic closed drainage. Cis-platinum complexes The chest will be perfused by cis-platinum until no malignant pleural effusion outflows. On the basis of that, the Yiqi Juanyin Formula is applied in study group. Changes in treatment efficiency(CR+PR),KPS score,TCM Syndrome Scale, Functional Assessment Cancer Treatment scale of Lung cancer(FACT-L), serum albumin level and so on between the two groups are compared after one month.Results:There is no statistic difference in age distribution,sex ratio and pathology between control group and study group before patients are treated. The two groups are comparable. But after being treated for 3 weeks, the efficiency of study group is obviously higher than that of control group. Its KPS score,TCM Syndrome Scale are better than those of control group. According to FACT-L 4.0 score,study group is superior to control group in the aspects of society/family, affection, function and additional concern. And the comparison is of significance of statistics. After being treated, study group excels control group while elevating plasma albumin.Conclusion: The Yiqi Juanyin Formula can enhance the clinical effect and reduce the pain of patients. It does improve patients' quality of life. |
