Objective: To verify Traditional Chinese Medicine Na-Jia(TCM Na-Jia)by collecting and analyzing ancient books, documents, and archaeological discoveries literature. To describe the generation, development, and academic branch of TCM Na-Jia by time. To Discus and analyze shortcoming and prospects of TCM Na-Jia. To describe clinical application of TCM Na-Jia. According to its character, to certificate its periodicity and regularity, and to apply TCM Na-Jia in both scientific research and clinical research. Methods: There were two parts of this paper: ancient literature research and modern literature research. Researches were carried out by collecting, analyzing, and accessing literature, including 1. Scoping of literature. 1.1 ancient literature part: Searching books and literatures of traditional chinese medicine, history, and archaeology, in both Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine library and Shandong Library with computer and hand, using Na-Jia, Ziwu Liuzhu Na-Jia, Na-Gan, et al as key words. 1.2 modern literature part: using computer. 1.2.1 database: Searching clinical research within CNKI, VIP, CBM, Wanfang database in Chinese medicine internal medicine, surgical, gynecology department, pediatrics, Orthopedics, and Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology department. 1.2.2 Using key words and MESH words. 2?Inclusive and exclusive of literature. 2.1 Inclusive:(1)×××(2) Chinese literature;(3) clinical research literature;(4) traditional chinese medicine external treatment methods. 2.2 Exclusive:(1)repeating report;(2)case report;(3)animal experiments; science articles; reviews;(4)western medicine;(5)newspaper report; patent reports. Results: 1. TCM Na-Jia is on the basis of correspondence between man and universe, Jiang-Fang Na-Jia theory, and Wei-Boyang Na-Jia theory are the most representative. Decrease and increase of Yin and Yang are showed in day and night changing. Its changing periodicity and regularity influence qi and blood circulation of human body. 2. TCM Na-Jia origin and development has its own generation, development, and academic branch character, which help TCM researchers to understand it according timeline. 3. Understanding shortcoming and prospects, periodicity and regularity of TCM Na-Jia help researchers to avoid wrongly application. 4. Review of clinical application of TCM Na-Jia proofs the science of periodicity and regularity. Conclusion: 1?Treatment method: TCM Na-Jia was mainly used in acupuncture, moxibustion, Qigong guidance, diagnosis, health keeping, blood-letting therapy, therapeutic feeding, washing, ironing, acupoints therapy, and fumigation therapy. Modern methods were combined with physical therapy. 2?acupoints selection mainly included 12 meridians, five Shu points. Acupoints selected according to date, time combined with syndrome differentiation, and other time acupuncture methods. 3?There were overlay treatment results, but rare records of this in ancient literatures, so it is impossible to compare. 4?Shortcomings: 4.1 There are some shortcomings in ancient literature and modern clinical trials. No clinical research literature in history, and it is difficult of find clinical trial research literatures. 4.2 TCM Na-Jia is time and space wholism under the theory of correspondence between man and universe. Junction line between Yin and Yang influences day and night time changing. This time changing, light time and angle in day time, and phases of moon in night influence human in biology, pathology, periodicity, and regularity. This paper will help medical researchers to understand and use TCM Na-Jia method in clinic research.
