Objective: To observe the serum Zinc-alpha2 glycoprotein level in obese and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease patients and the relationship between ZAG and anthropometry, lipid metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism and insulin resistance. To investigate the relationship between ZAG, body weight and lipid metabolism. Methods: 1. Subjects were divided into six groups according to BMI and NAFLD:normal weight subjects without NAFLD(Control-18.5≤BMI< 24 kg/m2, n=144), over-weight subjects without NAFLD(Control-24≤BMI<28kg/m2, n=58),obesity subjects without NAFLD(Control-BMI≥28 kg/m2, n=10),normal weight subjects with NAFLD(NAFLD-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2, n=29), over-weight subjects with NAFLD( NAFLD-24≤BMI < 28 kg/m2, n=77),obesity subjects with NAFLD(NAFLD-BMI≥28 kg/m2, n=30).2. Levels of triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspertate aminotransferase(AST), gamma glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT), c-reactive protein(CRP) and uric acid(UA), fasting insulin(FINS) were tested by automatic biochemical analyzer. Systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), height(Ht), weight(Wt), waist circumference(WC), hip circumference(HC) were measured.waist height ratio(WHt R), waist-hip ratio(WHR), body mass index(BMI) and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR), body Fat content(FAT%), lipid accumulation products(LAP) and visceral accumulation index(VAI) was calculated.3. Selected 79 subjects in random and divided into six groups according to BMI and NAFLD:normal weight subjects without NAFLD(Control-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2, n=12),over-weight subjects without NAFLD( Control-24≤BMI < 28 kg/m2,n=9),obesity subjects without NAFLD(Control-BMI≥28 kg/m2, n=3),normal weight subjects with NAFLD(NAFLD-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2, n=13),over-weight subjects with NAFLD(NAFLD-24≤BMI<28 kg/m2, n=19), obesity subjects with NAFLD(NAFLD-BMI≥28 kg/m2, n=23). Concentrations of ZAG and Adiponectin in serum were quantified by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).4. Analysis the relationship between ZAG and the detected parameters in statistical methods. Results: 1. Serum ZAG level in Control-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2,Control-24≤BMI<28 kg/m2, Control-BMI≥28kg/m2,NAFLD-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2,NAFLD-24≤BMI<28 kg/m2, NAFLD-BMI≥28 kg/m2 were 35.14±10.87μg/ml,28.40±10.10μg/ml,19.02±13.06μg/ml,26.89±7.73μg/m l, 27.99±4.95μg/ml, 31.13±13.38μg/ml. Serum ZAG levels in Control-18.5≤BMI < 24 kg/m2 was significantly higher than that of NAFLD-18.5≤BMI<24 kg/m2(P=0.046) and Control-BMI≥28 kg/m2(P=0.016).2.In the linear correlation analysis, serum ZAG level were negatively correlated with DBP, FPG, Insulin, HOMA-IR(P all<0.05). Serum ZAG level was positively correlated with Age(P<0.05),and negatively correlated with Insulin, HOMA-IR(P all<0.05) in the group NAFLD. Serum ZAG level were negatively correlated with SBP, DBP(P all<0.05), and also positively correlated with Insulin, HOMA-IR, Fat%(P all<0.01) in the group Control. Conclusion: Serum ZAG level in NAFLD were negatively correlated with Insulin and HOMA-IR and increased with the rise of BMI.
