The Protective Effect Of Ginseng Decoction On Radiation-induced Toxic Effects Of Laboratory Red Crucian Carp

Objective: Research on ¹³⁷Cs and uranium mill tailings induced oxidative stress in laboratory red crucian carp; Study on ginseng on uranium mill tailings and ¹³⁷Cs induced oxidative stress injury in laboratory red crucian carp;Investigate the toxicity and radiation injury and repair in the feasibility of applying laboratory red crucian carp.Methods: Using ¹³⁷Cs and uranium mill tailings treat laboratory red crucian carp, Radiation before and after irradiation fed respectively ginseng.On the 1th day,7th day, 14 th day and 28 th day determined sample serum activities of SOD, GSH-PX and MDA content and serum biochemical parameters which is K+,Na+,Cl-,Mg2+,TP,ALB,GLB,ALT,AST,ALP. On the14 th day, 28 th day extracted liver, kidney, and detected Hsp70 levels by Western blot. And on the 14 th day, 28 th day separated liver, kidney for tissue section.Results:1. ¹³⁷Cs and uranium mill tailings radiation elevated activity of SOD, GSH-PX and increased MDA content.2. ¹³⁷Cs and uranium mill tailings radiation increased the expression Hsp70 of liver and the kidney.3. Radiationof ¹³⁷Cs, and uranium mill tailings increased k+, Na+, Cl-, and Mg2+concentration and contents of TP, ALB declined while increased levels of GLB,ALT, AST, ALP enzymes activity in the serum.4. Radiation after adding ginseng feeding and radiation joined ginseng before feeding inhibited SOD,GSH-PX activity increasing level, and content level of MDA and Hsp70 expression was declined in liver and kidney.Conclusions: 1. Radiation of ¹³⁷Cs and uranium mill tailings induced oxidative stress in laboratory red crucian carp 2. Ginseng can reduce the oxidative stress level in laboratory red crucian carp, and has a protective effect for radiation induced oxidative stress injury in laboratory red crucian carp3.Laboratary red crucian carp can be used for radiation toxicity and radiation damage repair research.
