Objective: To investigate the status of patient safety culture in Intensive Care unit(ICU)nurses and analyzes the influencing factors at comprehensive hospitals.In order to provide nursing administrators with theoretical references to take effective measures to enhance the level of patient safety culture in ICU nurses,strengthen the consciousness of safety culture,and improve the quality of intensive care.Method: In 2015 from March to May,the convenient sampling method was used to select 373 intensive care unit nurses of six comprehensive hospitals in the city according to inclusive criteria.Information questionnaire,Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire-II,Hospital Survey of Patient Safety Culture,the Report Barriers Questionnaire,Professional Self-concept of Nurses Instrument were used for cross-sectional survey as research tools.EXCEL office software was used for data entry,and SPSS17.0 statistical package was used for data processing.Using general descriptive statistics,t-test of independent samples,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation,multiple linear stepwise regression and other statistical methods to do statistical analysis.Result:1.The total score of intensive care unit nurses' patient safety culture was(13.27 ± 1.37)points,the mean rate of positive response was 67.84%,five advantage areas whose positive response from high to low were: teamwork within hospital units(89.95%),supervisor/manager expectations and actions promoting safety(88.83%),organizational learning-continuous improvement(84.63%),feedback and communication about errors(83.47%),hospital management support for patient safety(76.94%);three improve areas whose positive response from high to low were: non-punitive response to error(47.45%),frequency of event reporting(46.92%)and staffing(35.52%).2.Intensive care unit nurses' overall patient safety culture were positive related with structure empowerment and its six dimensions;and the patient safety culture were also negtive related with Report Barriers and its two dimensions which were punitive culture and the meaning of report;the patient safety culture were positive related with professional attitude and its five dimensions.3.Multiple regression analysis showed that ICU departments,resources,opportunity,formal empowerment,punitive culture,the meaning of report,satisfaction and communication were influencing factors of intensive care unit nurses' patient safety culture,nine variables explained 52.5% of the total variance.Conclusion:1.The level of patient safety culture in ICU nurses was medium,it remains a further improvement.Five advantage areas were teamwork within hospital units,supervisor/manager expectations actions promoting safety,organizational learning-continuous improvement,feedback and communication about errors,hospital management support for patient safety.Three improve areas were non-punitive response to error,frequency of event reporting and staffing.2.The higher level of ICU nurses' empowerment structure in comprehensive hospitals,the smaller report barriers,and the more positive professional attitude,the higher level of ICU nurses' patient safety culture.3.ICU departments,resources,opportunity,formal empowerment,punitive culture,the meaning of report,satisfaction and communication were the influencing factors of ICU nurses' patient safety culture.Recommend that nurse administrators take effective measures according to the influencing factors to promote the level of ICU nurses' patient safety culture,strengthen the consciousness of safety culture and improve quality of nursing in Intensive Care Unit.
