Objective:To investigate the effect of edaravone on in patients with serum Interleukin 6 (IL-6), Interleukin 8 (IL-8) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde, (MDA), and lung function index for the first second forced expiratory volume% expected (FEV1% pre) in acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Method:80 AECOPD patients whose diagnosed II grade by lung function testing were randomly divided into two groups namely the routine treatment group (group A,n=40)and edaraone in intervention group(group B,n=40),and 40 normal lung function of healthy subjects were randomly enrolled as the control group (group C).Detailed records of all the research object of age, gender, height and body mass index, general situation,Group A were treated with routine, controlling oxygen therapy and anti-infection treatment, spasmolysis choose aminophylline, similar in the two groups all use antimicrobial activity of the same generation antibiotics, however,30mg edaravone injection and 100mlsodium chloride injection were used for Group B aside from the routine treatment, while at the same time with an intravenous drip per day for the period of 10 days two groups are continuous treatment for 10 days.Group A and group B are in before 1 days and 10 days after treatment, respectively dawn on an empty stomach take 4 ml blood of elbow, and group C in physical examination on the morning on an empty stomach take elbow venous blood 4 ml, all serum samples were sent to hunan normal university the second affiliated hospital clinical laboratory, centrifugal after serum on A 70 ? refrigerator, collected specimens after concentration determination of serum IL-6, IL-8 and SOD, MDA, and comparing with group C.Both A and B two groups of subjects from line into the group and the 10th day after treatment pulmonary function testing, group C physical exams on lung function.Result:Serum IL-6?IL-8 levels and the activities of MDA in both group A and group B were significantly higher before treatment than group C,while levels of SOD comparatively lower before treatment than group C,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).All indexes of in both group A and group B were obviously ameliorated in comparison with before treatment.but the levels of IL-6?IL-8 levels and the activities of MDA in both group B decreased more greatly than in the group A, the levels of SOD increased considerably more than in the group A,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),Group A and group B lung function also was improved, the difference was statistical significance (P< 0.05),But group A better than group B.Conclusion:acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients exists flammation mediator and oxidation/antioxidant imbalance, the daravone can redue the levels of IL-6, IL-8 and MDA and increase SOD activity, with antioxidant anti-inflammatory in patients with acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and improve lung function...
