Objective:To explore the relationship among Visceral adipose tissue-derived serine protease inhibitor(Vaspin),N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptides(NT-proBNP)levels with body mass index(BMI)in patients with chronic heart failure.Methods:94 patients(48 male and 44 female)with chronic heart failure were enrolled in this study.Height and weight of each patient and BMI were calculated with these parameter. Those patients were divided into 3 groups according to BMI: normal group which were BMI<24,overweight group which were BMI between 24 to 27.9,and obese group which were BMI >28.Then measure each patients' plasma vaspin and NT-proBNP levels.Results:1)The concentrations of plasma NT-proBNP were lower in obese group [(634.61 ± 123.58)pg/ml] compared to normal group [(37875.53 ±330.45)pg/ml] and overweight group[(1746.22 ± 619.73)pg/ml].The concentrations of plasma vaspin were highter in obese group [(0.76 ±0.07)ng/ml] compared to normal group [(0.33±0.13)ng/ml] and overweight group[(0.47 ±0.08)ng/ml].2)In chronic heart failure patients,NT-proBNP levels were inversely correlated with BMI,and vaspin were positive correlated with BMI.Conclusions:In chronic heart failure patients, plasma NT-proBNP,vaspin were all effected by BMI.NT-proBNP levels were inversely correlated with BMI,and vaspin were positive correlated with BMI.
