BackgroundHypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE)is one of the main causes of infant nerve dysfunction.The children with HIE often take a long time of treatment and rehabilitation.As the main caregivers of children,the parents' own factors play a crucial role in the process of treatment and rehabilitation.Children with HIE is the parents' psychological stress events.If the response of parents to inappropriate,it may appear the psychological problems such as anxiety,depression,and even can cause psychological disorders,affect the quality of the treatment and care of children.ObjectiveTo explore and analyze the status and influencing factors of anxiety and depression of the parents with children in HIE convalescence,in order to provide a reference for developing nursing intervention measures,eliminating parents' negative emotions,improving the psychological status and the quality of life of the children and their parents.MethodsOctober 2014~October 2015,there were 196 cases parents of the children in HIE convalescence were enrolled from pediatric rehabilitation department of four tertiary general hospitals of Henan Province.The questionnaire of general information,Hospital anxiety depression scale,Chinese version of family cohesion and adaptability scale,Social support rating scale were used to investigate the parents' anxiety,depression,family function,social support status.Descriptive statistical analysis,t test,ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were performed by SPSS19.0software.Results1.The anxiety scores of the parents with children in HIE convalescence were9.43±3.62.The depression scores were 9.19±3.83.There were about 70% likely to have varying degrees of anxiety and depression,and about 40% of which had a certain presence of anxiety and depression.2.The one-factor analysis showed that parents' anxiety scores were significantly different in their educational background,occupation,relationships with family,the traits of character,the place of residence,understanding of the disease,self-rating pressure,while significant differences between in take care of children in different month age,degree of HIE,course of rehabilitation(P<0.05).The parents' depression scores were significantly different in various educational background,the place of residence,self-rating pressure,mode of payment,while significant differences between in take care of children in different month age,degree of HIE,course of rehabilitation(P<0.05).3.In the aspect of family function,the actual family cohesion were no difference compared with the domestic norm(P>0.05).The ideal cohesion,the dissatisfaction of cohesion,the dissatisfaction of adaptability were higher than the domestic norm,while the actual adaptability,the ideal adaptability were lower than the domestic norm(P<0.05).The scores of anxiety and depression were negatively correlated with the actual cohesion and actual adaptability,while were positively correlated with the dissatisfaction of cohesion and adaptability(P<0.05).4.In the aspect of social support,the total score of social support and the score of each dimension were higher than the domestic norm(P<0.05).Social support level was at a medium or high level,among which the medium level was 79.1%,and the high level was20.9%.The scores of anxiety and depression were negatively correlated with the total score of social support,objective support score,subjective support score,and utilization of social support(P<0.05).5.The regression analysis showed that self-rating pressure,objective support score,the degree of HIE,utilization of social support,the traits of character,the place of residence and the dissatisfaction of cohesion were entered into the regression equation,in which anxiety scores were as the dependent variable.They effectively explained 39.5% of the variance in anxiety scores(P<0.05).Self-rating pressure,objective support score,utilization of social support and the course of rehabilitation were entered into the regression equation,in which depression scores were as the dependent variable.They effectively explained 36.1% of the variance in depression scores(P<0.05).Among them,objective support score and utilization of social support were the negative influencing factors on the anxiety and depression scores of the parents with children in HIE convalescence.Conclusions1.The emotional state of the parents whose children in HIE convalescence was not optimistic.The anxiety and depression scores of them were at a high level.In the data of sociology of the population,self-rating pressure,the traits of character,the place of residence,the degree of HIE and the course of rehabilitation were the main influencing factors on anxiety and depression of the parents with children in HIE convalescence.2.The family functional status of the parents whose children in HIE convalescence should be improved.The better family function status they had,the less probability of being anxiety and depression.The dissatisfaction of family cohesion was an important factor affecting the level of anxiety.3.The social support of the parents whose children in HIE convalescence was at a medium level.The more social supports they got,the less probability of being anxiety and depression.Objective support and utilization of social support were the important protective factors for the parents whose children in HIE convalescence.
