Prostatic abscess is an uncommon disease. It will cause septic shock, even results in patient's death if it is not treated timely. It often occurs in patients with immunologic inadequacy. The main symptom is irritation, sometimes with fever and dysuria, which is not typical clinical manifestation. B-ultrasound test is commonly used to diagnose this disease, and sometimes CT or MRI is needed. It can also be diagnosed by means of abscess puncture and drainage. According to patient's condition, antibiotic therapy or surgical treatment can be chosen. This article is about the pathogeny, manifestations, ways of diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
