The Clinical Diagnosis And Treatment Analysis Of Patients With Multiloculated Pyogenic Brain Abscess

Objective.To discuss the clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with multiloculated pyogenic brain abscess(MLPBA), through multiloculated pyogenic brain abscess(MLPBA) and uniloculated pyogenic brain abscess(ULPBA) contrast research.Methods:The clinical data of 54 patients with brain abscess(including 15 with MLPBA and 39 with ULPBA) were analyzed retrospectively between January 2011 and January 2015 in the first teaching hospital of Xinjiang Medical University.Results:The proportion of multiloculated pyogenic brain abscess and uniloculated pyogenic brain abscess were 27.8% and 72.2% respectively, the difference of gender, age, duration, clinical manifestations, location of abscess and infection had no statistical significance(P>0.05). And is broken into the ventricle and abscess volume difference was statistically significant(.P<0.05). the ratio of positive isolated microorganism and ratio breaking into ventricles in patients with MLPBA were significantly higher than those in patients with ULPBA(P<0.05); Multilocular brain abscess the recurrence rate of puncture surgery was 6.7%, the mortality rate of 0%. Uniloculated pyogenic brain abscess the recurrence rate of puncture surgery was 5.1% and the mortality rate of 2.6%.Conclusion:The surgery is the first treatment choice for multiloculated pyogenic brain abscess, the operation method should be selected according to the size of abscess of the patient, abscess wall thickness, whether in the functional areas, as well as the patient’s physical condition, and prognosis is good.
