Objective:sum up the clinical features of children with multiple sclerosis in southwest China, discuss the value of laboratory examination, electrophysiology, imaging examination in the diagnosis of MS, improve diagnostic skills, reduce misdiagnosis rate. Methods:a retrospective cohort study model is set up to in affiliated children's hospital of chongqing medical university in 2008-2013 cases of hospitalized children with MS as the research object; All the total 35 MS cases meet the diagnostic criteria of Poser. The clinical features, laboratory examination, imaging examination were analyzed retrospectively. Results:In the 35 cases of multiple sclerosis cases,14 cases of men,women,21 cases;MS onset age 3.2 to 13.8 years old (average 7.5+/-2.10 years old).Patients before disease causative factor to the most common infection.RRMS 82.86%,SPMS 11.43%.35 cases all have a relapse, the recurrence rate is 1 to 5 times, first Recurrence time away from the attacks an average of 7.5 months (1.2-74 months), including 25 cases (71.43%) in the early recurrence after the first year. Clinical manifestations are Complex and varied. Physical weakness, visual impairment are the most common starting symptoms. The nervous system symptoms and signs of brain damage is mainly optic nerve damage (28.57%), and perform in a variety of forms;Electrophysiological examination of the VEP, SEP abnormality rates are 60.61%,50.00%,55.00% of the VEP examination is normal without optic nerve damage symptoms,14.29% of the SEP examination is normal without spinal cord and peripheral nerve damage symptoms; All of 35 cases of MS patients in the course do the head MRI,100% patients showed abnormal results.More are given priority to with cerebral hemisphere cortex, the brain white matter. In spinal cord MRI cervical and thoracic cord were prominent. Detection of CSF oligoclonal bands,35 cases of 8 cases (44.4%) are positive. Conclusion:Majority of MS Patients are Women;limb weakness is the most common symptoms, followed by eye symptoms; The clinical manifestations of MS have diversity and complexity, The optic nerve is the most vulnerable. MRI abnormality rate is high, Dynamic follow-up head imaging is helpful to the clinical diagnosis of MS,evoked potential examination can discover subclinical lesions.
