Design Of Video System For Surveillance And Visiting In ICU

Currently the management of ICU is semi-closed management in most hospitals. The time and the number of visits are limited by hospitals. Although the visitors are required to wear gowns and shoes, masks etc. This way is still easy to cause cross infection and takes staff time and manpower cost. It is prone to distrust to medical staff because the patients families do not understand whether they are well taken care of in ICU. There appears quarrel frequently because the patient's family requested an extension of visiting hours. The patients' families even Insult and threat health care workers.For the above-mentioned series of problems, this paper designs the video system for surveillance and visiting in ICU. The system architecture based on Client/Sever, it consists of video capture and compression encoding, data storage, network transmission, video display which is composed of four parts. The system is based on DSP platform has the function of control and communication. The first, video acquisition implemented under the framework of V4L2, and the digital video compression encoding of the H.264 encoding standard. Secondly, it uses RS485 to complete the patient life symptom data transmission. Then it uses Winsock technology for network programming and TCP/IP protocol to realize video streaming transmission and vital signs data transmission. Finally, using DirectShow technology to realize data acquisition, decoding and playback function.The client terminal includes equipment management terminal, medical terminal and family visit terminal. Equipment management terminal has completed the tasks of equipment configuration and management, medical terminal has completed unified management tasks for all patients, family visit terminal provide visiting patients with video and vital signs data function for the families. Families can enter the name of the patient and the medical record number to see the patient's condition, not only to relieve their worries, but also reduce the medical disputes. It can reflect the intelligent medical devices, humanized hospital.
