Reality Therapy Apply To Culture Related Mental Disorders

Culture related mental disorder is a mental illness. Culture related mental disorders think it is the reasons that a cultural phenomenon.At present,culture-related mental disorders including Qigong induced mental disorders, mental disorders due to witchcraft,fear of reduced disease and other unspecified culture related mental disorders.This service mainly in casework for culture-related mental disorders.It includes behavioral intervention and psychological intervention.The focus is on changing the behavior of clients, not feelings.Follow the principle of accepting no excuse,no punishment, no giving up.The contents of Case Service are helping clients to have more communication,control behavior and have a proper social role.I have the findings through the research of casework:(1)I mainly used reality therapy as a guide.It has a good effect in terms of behavior modification.Reality therapy has its unique advantages in the Social work of mental illness.It can quickly change the deviant behavior and reduce the disease of the clients.In a short time,we can find useful effect.(2)Currently the main treatment for culture related mental disorders is drug treatment,lacking of non-physical treatment.Social workers can provide psychological support for the patients to a large extent.And social workers can understand the thinking of patients and help them redressing behavior.So we can combine drug treatment and methods of Social Work.(3)It is easy to find ethical dilemma in psychiatric social work.Social workers can easily believe that the client is the one with the problem and they can not make the right decision.So we may ignore the will of clients.I also found limitations of reality therapy.Reality therapy is focused on changing behavior, not feelings.It does not have enough depth and validity.So in practical application we should combine reality therapy and other methods.
