Cognition Research On HPV And HPV Vaccine Of Female College Students In Hunan Province

Objectives To investigate the cognition and attitude towards HPV?HPV vaccine and cervical cancer among female college students and the influencing factors, so as to provide a basis for future research on cervical cancer and health education. To survey the willingness of HPV vaccination in the students and related reasons, in order to provide fundamental basis for HPV vaccination in the mainland of China.Methods This cross-sectional designed study used a stratified-random-cluster sampling method to recruit920female college students from Faculty of Arts?institute of science and technology and medical schools in Hunan Province. They were tested by the following questionnaire:Section one:Awareness of HPV&HPV vaccine, and Cervical screening behaviour Section two:Knowledge about cervical cancer and HPV infection Section three:Risk perception of cervical cancer Section four:Attitudes towards HPV vaccination and intention to be vaccinated Sexual five:Psychosocial impact of HPV infection:HPV Impact Profile (HIP) Section six:HPV-related sexual stigma Section seven:Socio-demographic information and sexual relationship status Statistic description, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis H, and multiple linear stepwise regression analysis were conducted using SPSS21.0.Results1.18.9%of the female college students definitely had sexual intercourse of which34.8%started less than or equal to20years old,6.3%have2to3sex partner and51.7%use condom for Contraceptioon.2. The awareness rates of HPV?HPV vaccine and cervical cancer screening were statistically significant difference among the various subjects. In medical female students the awareness rates of HPV?HPV vaccine and cervical cancer screening were72.0%?31.9%and72.8%respectively and had statistically significant difference among the various grades.In liberal arts female students the rates were11.7%,5.7%and36.8%respectively. In science and engineering female majors the rates were10.6%,3.9%and31.6%.3. Liberal arts female students?science and engineering female majors and medical female students'awareness rates of the risk factors of cervical cancer were45.5%?46.4?60.0%(P<0.05).Only28.0%of the students knew that45years of age and older was the risk factor of cervical cancer (P<0.05)4. The willingness of HPV vaccination was low in the female college students. Stepwise regression analysis showed that the influence factors of willingness of HPV vaccination were awareness of HPV vaccine? grades?age?side effects of HPV vaccine?age of first sexual intercourse? common contraception. Parents'highest level of education.Conclusions1.The awareness rates of HPV?HPV vaccine and cervical cancer screening in the Female college students were34.6%,15.3%, and50.1%respectively. All the awareness rates were higher in Medical female students.2. Female college students'cognition of the risk factors of cervical cancer was not comprehensive even in the medical students. It's necessary to take health education about HPV and cervical cancer among female college students.3. Female college students were optimistic towards their future gynecological health. Female college students'anxious emotion about HPV infection and their willingness of HPV vaccination were not strong.4. Awareness of HPV vaccine?grades?age?side effects of HPV vaccine?age of first sexual intercourse?common contraception?Parents' highest level of education were the influence factors of willingness of HPV vaccination.5. Female college students were lack of correct Sexual knowledge and the educational administrative sections should pay more attention to it to improve the primary prevention of cervical cancer.
