Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) is the one of mostinterested technology to treat patients with severe COPD and emphysemain international, which can be achieved through a variety of methods, suchas Endobronchial Valve (EBV), airway bypass stents, bronchoscopicthermal vapor ablation, biological lung volume reduction, endobronchialcoils, endobronchial blockers. Currently, EBV is the most popular projectto study in both domestic and international clinical research. Studies haveshown that patients with highly heterogeneous emphysema, intact fissureand none collateral ventilation between target pulmonary lobe and nearbylobe can achieve the best EBV effect. The emerging high-resolution CT(HRCT) and Chartis systems with great development prospects can solvethe above three basic problems and improve the success rate and efficacy ofEBV. This paper summarizes the mechanism and application of HRCT,Chartis Pulmonary Assessment System in the treatment of severeemphysema through EBV therapy.
