Osteoporosis is a kind of bone metabolism which can seriously threatenhuman's health. The number of patients with osteoporosis, especially among the oldpeople, has been increasing gradually as the improvement of living standard and theextension of lifespan. The most common feature of osteoporosis is causing fracture, doing great harm to the health. Therefor, the experimental research on bonebiomechanical properties of patients with osteoporosis becomes extremelyimportant. In this research, the mice, regarded as the experimental objects, are mademoudle of osteoporosis. The mice are decided into three groups: the normal, thediseased, and the treatment. Measure their variation of the serum biochemicalindicators, the bone mineral density(BMD), and the value of modulus of elasticityand then analyze the bone biomechanical properties. Make a tomoscan on thethighbone of the mice with CT, and make a three-dimensional finite element modelof the mice thighbone with MIMICS software, then performing simulation andanalyzing the mechanical property of mice thighbone with ANSYS under the certainload. In the process of the experiment, make drug-introduction on the male NIHmice which have reached sexual maturity after raising for four weeks in order tomake osteoporotic moudle, and give treatment of anti osteoporosis drug(MIC) onthe group of the diseased during the raising process. Measure the content variationof the Glucose (GLU), total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) in serum of themice every week. Then we find that the values of these three indicators in the groupof the diseased mice without treatment are especially high, however, the values inthe group of the treatment have reduced to the normal. The measurement and theanalysis of the biomechanical characteristic of the mice thighbones showed thatboth the BMD and the elastic modulus value in the diseased group are lower thanthe normal group. However, those values in the treatment group are still a littlelower than that of the normal group, thus the drug treatment still has some certaintreatment effects. During the process of finite element analysis on the mice's thighbone strength by ANSYS, we put the load of1/4mice's weight on theirfemoral head and put the load of1/8mice's weight on their joints muscle ligament. After the calculation, we find that the safety factor of the diseased mice'sthighbones is far lower than that of the normal group and the treatment group, buttheir strain under the same load is obviously higher than the other two groups, andthus they have greater danger in fracture. This experiment uses the NIH mice as the animal moudle with osteoporosisbecause of the closeness with the clinic, being effective experimental model inresearching human's osteoporosis and its causes. The experiment and research onthe drug treatment for bone mechanical properties of osteoporotic mice can providethe theoretical basis and experimental basis for the cure and treatment of human'sosteoporosis and put the clinical treatment of osteoporosis forward.
