Evaluation On Comprehensive Characters Of New Apple Variety ‘Envy'

‘Envy' is a new apple variety introduced from New Zealand by the College of Horticulture at Northwest A&F University in 2012.After Continuous observation and experimental study in 2012-2017 years,the characteristics of 'Envy' apple are crisp,hard and high sugar content.In this study,Fuji,the main cultivar in China,and Ruiyang,a newly cultivar in the College of Horticulture at Northwest A&F University,were used as control,to comprehensive evaluation of botanical,biological,fruit economic traits and disease resistance of 'Envy'.And analyze the differences of fruit quality in different regions of 'Envy',and several key technical measures for improving the quality of the variety were also studied.What we're doing is to provide a theoretical basis for the promotion of 'Envy',and to diversify the variety of our country.The results of this study are as follows:1.'Envy' show moderate tree potential in Baishui County,the tree is smaller than Fuji and Ruiyang.The annual growth length and coarseness of new shoots were smaller than that of the control,and the growth was smaller.Its germination rate and shoot capacity were higher than those of the control variety.‘Envy' is easy to form,short fruiting branches.2.'Envy' has the advantages of big fruit,hard and crisp of fruit,soluble solid content is higher then that of control varieties,rich flavor and storage resistance.Its comprehensive fruit quality was superior excellent.It has good promotion prospects.3.Envy is highly resistant to Dip locarpon mali,and the disease index was close to Ruiyang and higher than Fuji.The incidence of Valsa mali Miyabe et Yamada was lower than that of Fuji control.But the disease index of Powdery miklew was higher than that of Fuji and Ruiyang,so the control of Powdery miklew should be strengthened during cultivation.4.Study on quality of ‘Envy' variety in 4 different sampling sites in three counties shows that good quality of 'Envy' fruits in Chengcheng County,The fruit quality of Dukang Town and Lingao Town in Baishui County was the second,and the fruit quality of Xunyi County was worse than that of the other three regions and should be continued to be observed.5.‘Envy' pollinated flowers with Fuji and Ruiyang have the highest fruit setting rate.Ruixue as the pollinated tree,the fruit has a positive fruit shape,and Concentrated Fruit-25 and gala as pollinated trees have good fruit flavor.The fruit setting rate of the pollinated trees of Pink lady and Wuqi purr Catalpa was low.6.The internal quality of fruit was improved Compared with the control by spraying foliar fertilizer in 4 groups.The comprehensive analysis of fruit quality showed that the effect of treatment ? was the best,treatment ? and treatment ? were second,and treatment ? was the third.
