Bai Shui Jiang National Nature Reserve in Gansu province is one of the three giant panda reserves directly under the State Forestry Bureau, and is also the only natural landscape area in Gansu province with the northern subtropical biological resources. The 5·12 Wenchuan earthquake is a region with high biodiversity in the southwest of China, and it is the main distribution area of the giant panda habitat, which has made the giant panda habitat be severely damaged. It is an important task to strengthen the study of forest ecosystem in the area of seismic interference, and it can also provide theoretical basis and scientific reference for the restoration of the vegetation and the habitat of the giant panda in this area.Based on the adaptability of the habitat selection of the giant panda, this study makes a quantitative analysis of the habitat selection characteristics of the biological and abiotic factors in the habitat of Bai Shui Jiang National Nature Reserve in Gansu province before and after the earthquake. This is to understand the adaptation mechanism, survival mechanism, distribution and potential habitats of the giant panda. It provides a scientific basis for the protection and management of giant pandas and their habitats in Bai Shui Jiang National Nature Reserve. It provides a theoretical basis for the restoration of the giant panda habitat, and helps the reserve to make reasonable measures for the protection and management of the protection and monitoring plan,so as to accelerate the pace of research on the protection of giant pandas in Gansu province. The results of the study are as follows:(1)Using the Vanderloge and Scavia selection coefficient method, the preference of pandas for individual habitat selection factors before and after an earthquake was reflected in the tendency to prefer natural habitats and close to the source of feeding, but there was no significant change in the status of bamboo growth before and after the earthquake. The earthquake has a significant impact on the habitat selection of giant pandas.(2)Cluster analysis was used to compare the clustering results of 18 factors in the selection of the habitat of giant pandas before and after the earthquake. The clustering coefficient of 70000 was used as the segmentation point. The clustering results of the factors before and after the earthquake were divided into 6 categories. However, except for no change in the last factor-like elevation factor, the other five groups have had an impact. The impact of the earthquake on the habitat selection of giant pandas is demonstrated by the fact that after the earthquake, they prefer habitats with little interference, good concealment, and safe food space.(3)Using the principal component analysis method, the results of the variable analysis of the panda’s preference habitat indicate that the following factors are: food richness factor, landform factor, concealment factor, forest origin factor, comprehensive factor, food selection factor;post-earthquake impact The important factors for habitat selection of giant pandas are: covertness and food richness factors, vegetation factors, landforms and covert feature factors, landform factors, comprehensive factors, and landform selection factors. Before and after the earthquake, the mid-slope orientation and canopy closure in habitat factors were not the main factors for selecting habitat after the giant panda earthquake.
