Epidemiological Investigation Of Early Death In Goslings In Shandong Province

In recent years,goose industry has developed rapidly in China.At present,stocks of breeding geese are 30 million in a year,slaughter of meat geese is 4.9 billion,which account for at least 90%of geese production in the world,and goose industry has become one of the most important parts in waterfowl industry in China.However,with the development of goose industry,increased stocking density,morbidity of diseases has risen gradually.Avian influenza virus,goose parvovirus,fungal infection and gout could not only cause high infection rate in breeding geese,but also increased mortality in goslings,which have brought severe economic losses to goose industry in our country.In order to know the cause of geese deaths in the early age,an epidemiology investigation was carried out to detect H9N2-AIV,GPV,NDV,GoCV,TMUV,FAV of goslings in Shandong province of China in 2016-2017.351 samples of dead gosling were collected to detect H9N2-AIV,NDV,GPV,GoCV,FAV and TMUV in using PCR and RT-PCR method,and analyze detection results.Results show positive samples of single infection were 147,double infection were 77,triple infection were 39,four-fold infection were 15,five-fold were 4,negative samples were 69,and positive rates were 41.9%?21.9%?11.1%?4.3%?1.1%,19.7%respectively.Detection rate of FAV is the highest,while NDV is the lowest.Results of mixed infection show,H9N2-AIV + GPV infection type and with other pathogens are the most serious.Analysis results in different seasons show detection rates of H9N2-AIV,NDV,GPV were the highest in spring and winter,while lower in summer and autumn;Detection rate of TMUV is higher in summer,and lower in spring;There are no obvious changes in the detection rate of GoCV for the year;Detection rate of FAV is higher in spring.Autopsy results show there were 40 goslings with fungal infection,and 8 goslings with gout.And virus detection was carried out in these 48 goslings,results indicated most samples were negative,and FAV were positive in a few samples.In conclusion,infection of H9N2-AIV and GPV is the main reason which cause goslings deaths in the early age,and fungal infection and gout are as well as the important reason.Therefore,making prevention and control measures of viral diseases,fungal infection and gout plays important part in healthy development of goose industry in our country.
