Manglietia conifera Dandy is a kind of evergreen and broad-leaved tree belongs to Manglietia genus of Magnoliaceae family,which has straight trunk and perfect crown.It is an excellent species for ornamentation and afforestation which has a certain resistance to air pollution.It's highly valued in application of garden and has a broad development prospects in the south of China's Tropic of Cancer.In this paper,by means of studying the techniques of cutting and graftting propagation.It aims to provide a scientific basis for the cultivation of Manglietia conifera,also provides a scientific basis for the future establishment of a perfect system of asexual propagation.The main conclusions were as follows:1.The rooting type of the semi-lignified twig cuttings of M.conifera was mainly of skin portion rooting,also with the type of callus rooting and intermediate rooting.Comprehensive observation of rooting process,the formation of its adventitious roots can be approximately divided into four periods: callus induction and generation,adventitious roots induction and generation,adventitious roots formation and extension,adventitious roots elongation and development.2.The best substrate for the semi-lignified twig cuttings of M.conifera was peat soil: vermiculite =3:1(V).The rooting rate of cuttings was the highest,the number of rooting was the most,and the effect of cutting rooting was the best.The different parts and numbers of keeping leaves of each cutting significantly influenced the rooting formation.The effect of cutting rooting was the best when cuttings in the top part with 3 pieces of quarter of leaves.The rooting effect of cuttings from 1-year-old tree was better than that of other age trees.Orthogonal test analysis speculated that,Using IBA1500 mg·L-1 to treat cuttings 10 seconds,will be able to get a better rooting rate.Spring was the ideal season to implment cuttings of M.conifera.Soaking cuttings at a fast pace was the best in three treatment.It obviously had a good rooting effect than other two treatments.The different concentration of NAA treat cuttings significantly influenced the rooting formation.With the increase of NAA concentration,the rooting efficiency of cuttings increased first and then decreased,and reached the highest at NAA1500mg/L.3.Choosing semi-lignified twig as scion,graftting survival rate is higher,and after the grafted plants was survival,the new twigs grow well.When the rootstock's thickness greater than 1.5cm,it's more beneficial to the survival of grafted plants of M.conifera.Among the six methods of graftting,using the technique of cutting had a higher survival rate.Choosing six fine strains as scions,the graftting survival rate of the No.2 strain was higher and the new twigs grow well in the later period.The plant growth regulators in different species and concentration treat scions,then compared the graftting effect,the result suggested that when the concentration of ABT1# and NAA and IBA was 100mg/L,the graftting survival rate and the new twig's growth were both better than the comparison.
