| Objective:Sheep industry is the main animal husbandry in Beitun area,Xinjiang.In recent years,fattening sheep farms in Beitun area are expanded rapidly with the high price of mutton year by year.Due to outmoded breeding method,deficiency of breeding technology and high breeding density,various diseases are appeared inevitably,resulting in a large amount of economic losses of breeding sheep industry.The main purpose of this research was to find out the types,characteristics,regions,reasons and influence factors of diseases.Then,we would draw up the comprehensive prevention and control technologies according to the cause of the diseases and demonstrate and popularize the technologies.Therefore,we hoped that the morbidity and mortality of sheep could be decreased;meanwhile,the economic benefit and social benefit of breeding sheep industry could be increased.Methods:This research was carried out by using field epidemiological survey directed to more than 30 thousands breeding sheep at about 100 fattening sheep farms in Group 181,Group 183,Group187 and Group 188,including the scale of farming,onset time,location,season,climate,persons,markets and other factors.Also,the survey should include the susceptible age,morbidity,mortality,clinical symptoms,pathological changes,drug control situation of the pathogenetic sheep,the immunized situation of different farms,feeding modes,feeding programs and feeding methods.The pathogens of main infectious diseases were detected by using microbiological methods.ResultCurrent situation of fattening lambs in Beitun area,Xinjiang:The main varieties of fattening lambs were aletai big-tail sheep,hybridization sheep hybridized by big-tail sheep and ovis aries.The total number of the fattening lambs is 400 0000-700 000 and the breeding sheep farms were mainly located in Group 181,Group 183,Group187 and Group 188.The fattening mode of lambs was long term fattening mode,whereas,the fattening mode of adult sheep was short term fattening mode.The main feeding modes were full drylot feeding and semi-drylot feeding and semi-pasture.The subsidiary feeding mode was pasture.The fattening season was not trenchant,and most of forage was obtained locally.The fattening modes were concentrated fattening elsewhere and self-feeding.Characteristics of main diseases of fattening lambs in Beitun area,Xinjiang:The main infectious diseases were clostridial disease,streptococcicosis,listeriosis and pasteurellosis and pleuropneumonia.The main parasitosis was acariasis.The main internal disease was acid poisoning.The internal diseases were the smallest influence diseases for fattening of the lambs.The main reasons and impact factors which influence the diseases of fattening lambs:The main reasons that cause the diseases were bad climate,stimulation of environmental factors,wrong vaccination,unstrict quarantine,simple feed,bad management,low quality of personal and low price.Formulation of comprehensive management practice and application and dissemination:According to the occurrence regularity and characteristics of infectious diseases,we made comprehensive preventive and control methods for the common infectious diseases and pasteurellosis,such as timely immunization,regular worm expelling,rational disinfection,strengthening management practice and peopleware promotion.These methods were applied and disseminated in 4 main fattening sheep farms.When the measures were popularized and applied,obvious effects were observed,and the morbidity and mortality of sheep were decreased year by year. |
