This subject aimed to study the influence of adding different levels vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit on lactation performance and suckling performance.It provided theoretical basis for the application of vaccarin in production.Selected 50 New Zealand female rabbit which had similar body condition,at the same time they were healthy and had a close number of new brith.They were randomly divided into 5 groups and each group had 10 rabbits.Added 1,2,4and 8 g/d vaccaria extractive(the content of vaccarin was 0.004,0.008,0.016 and 0.032g/d)to four experimental groups,and added extractive from brith day to weaning.The diet and others feeding conditions of blank group were same with experimental groups.Observed and recorded the change of pups’ weight,pups’ diarrhea rate and weaning survival rate,the content of some of hormones in breeding rabbits’ serum,and the content of lactose and lactoferrin in milk in the whole lactation period.At 28 days of pups,randomly selected 2 female rabbits in each group and collected breast tissue to mensurating relevant genes expression and rate of RNA/DNA.Produced paraffin sections of breast tissue to observing the difference of mammary acini.The result showed that:(1)Adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could effect pups weight at 28 days significantly(P <0.05).The result showed that the average weight of 4g group and 8g group were significant heavier than blank group and 1g group(P <0.05).Adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could effect pups’ diarrhea rate and weaning survival rate significantly(P <0.05).The diarrhea rate of 2g group,4g group and 8g group were lower than blank group and 1g group.The weaning survival rate of 4g group and 8g group were higher than blank group.(2)Adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could not effect the level of estrogen in serum of breeding rabbit(P >0.05).Adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could slow down the trend that the level of PRL in serum of breeding rabbit.In the result,levels of PRL of all experimental groups were significant or extremely significant higher than blank group(P <0.05,P <0.01).The decrease trend of the level of GH also could be slow down by adding vaccarin in the diet of breeding rabbit.Levels of GH of all experimental groups were significant or extremely significant higher than blank group(P <0.05,P <0.01).At the early stage of lactation period(5d-9d),adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could increase the content of lactoferrin in milk significant or extremely significant higher than blank group(P <0.05,P <0.01).At the end of lactation period,the content of lactoferrin of all experimental groups were still significant higher than blank group(P <0.05).The content of lactose also could be increased significantly by adding vaccarin in the diet of breeding rabbit.At the middle stage of lactation period(13d-25d),the content of lactose of all experimental groups were extremely significant higher than blank group(P <0.01),and the content were still significant higher than blank group in the last day(P <0.05).(3)At lactation period,adding different levels vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could made different effect on the expression of LACE-1,IGF-1and EGF gene.Adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could improve the expression of LACE-1 and IGF-1 significant(P <0.01).Adding vaccarin could improve the expression of EGF extremely significant(P <0.05).Adding vaccarin could reduce RNA/DNA rate significant(P <0.05).The paraffin sections of breast tissue showed that adding vaccarin could keep mammary acinus still be working at the end of lactation period,and increase the number of mammary acinus.In summary,adding vaccarin to the diet of breeding rabbit could significant improve the weaning weight;decrease the diarrhea rate;increase the weaning survival rate;improve the level of PRL and GH in breeding rabbits’ serum;improve the content of lactose and lactoferrin in milk;promote the expression of LACE-1,IGF-1and EGF gene;reduce the rate of RNA/DNA;promote the number of mammary acini with lactation activity in breast tissue.The experiment result showed that adding 4g/d vaccaria(the content of vaccarin was 0.016g/d)to the diet of breeding rabbit could present the best performance.
