Effects of different addition ways of yeast culture on growth performance,Intestinal health and immune function of calves were studied in suckling period.20 healthy newborn Holstein calves were randomly divided into 4 groups,5 replicates per group, including control group, experimental group one(?),experimental group two(?)and experimental group three(?).The claves in control group were not fed the yeast culture. The calves in experimental group I,were fed 20g yeast culture added into the milk and no addition of yeast culture to starter diet, that of experimental group ? were fed starter diet with ddition of 4%yeast culture in that and no addition of yeast culture to milk, and which of experimental group ? were fed starter diet with ddition of 2%yeast culture in that and lOg yeast culture of addition in milk..The aim of this study was to determine the best addition way and provide the theoretical basis and technical means for feeding calves by the analysis of growth performance,Intestinal health and serum immune indexes of calves. Results showed as follows:Average daily feed intake of calves in experimental group were increased in whole test period, which of group ? and ? were significantly higher than that of control group and group ?(P<0.05),group ? and ? groups no significant difference(P>0.05).Weight?average daily gain and feed to gain ratio of experimental group were significant difference with that of control group(P<0.05),and feed to gain ratio of group I was significantly lower than that of group ? and group ?(P<0.05),weight and average daily gain of group I were the highest, but there was no difference between the experimental groups(P>0.05).Body height of calves in group I and body oblique length in group ?were higher than that of control on 56 day of the experiment(P<0.05).The chest circumference of the three test groups was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The chest circumference of calves in group I was the highest in the experimental group and significantly higher than that in group(P<0.05).The number of Escherichia coli of calves in experimental groups was significantly lower than that of control group in fecal samples(P<0.05),the number of Bifidobacteria was significantly higher than that of control group on 21 day(P<0.05),while no significant difference were observed of Escherichia coli and Bifidobacterium number between the experimental groups(P>0.05).On the 56 day,Escherichia coli of calves in group ? was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05),Bifidobacterium number of calves in three experimental groups increased, there were no significant difference with that of control group(P>0.05).In 0-21 days, the fecal index of calves in the three experimental groups was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05),and the fecal index of calves in group I was significantly lower than that in group ? and group ?(P<0.05).The content of serum IgA and IgM of calves in group ? were significantly higher than those in control group on 21 day(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in serum IgA between three groups in content(P>0.05);there was no significant difference in the content of serum IgG among all groups(P>0.05).On 56 day,the contents of IgA,IgG and IgM in the serum of calves in three experimental groups were higher than those in the control group, but there was no significant difference(P>0.05).On 21 day,the content of IL-1? in calves serum in each experimental group were significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05);the content of serum IL-1? of calves in group II was the highest among three test groups, and significantly higher than that in group ?(P<0.05).On 56 day of the experiment, the content of TNF-a in calves serum of group ? and ? was significantly lower than that in control group(P<0.05),the content of that in group ? was highest in the experimental groups, but there were no significant difference between them(P>0.05).There was no significant difference of serum IL-1? content between three experimental groups(P>0.05),but there was an increasing trend in three experimental groups compared with the control group. The test results show that three ways of yeast culture addition to milk or starter diet had a certain role on growth and development of calves and promoting to intestinal health and immunity, comprehensive analysis, the addition way of yeast culture into milk was better than that of the other two addition ways.
