In this studied,we used Substrate Cultivation to researched the different nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency on growth,plant development,the fruit quality,the total yield and the water use efficiency of Melon and pepper corps,in order to ensure an appropriate nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency,thus in the practical production for economic,efficient management in order to obtain high yield,better quality melon and pepper provided a scientific basis and theoretical direction.The results as follows:1 Effect of the nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency on growth and development of melon under substrate cultivation(1)Different treatments had effect on growth processing of melon,the W1T2 treatment has the shortest,respectively than W2 treatment and W3 treatment in advance the 8 day and 11 days.Increase the nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency;it has the increased trend of melon plant height and stem diameter.(2)Compared with W1 treatment,when the nutrient solution amount for W2 and W3,the SOD,POD and CAT activity were increased of melon leaf.Increase for the nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency,it will promote the photosynthesis ability of melon.(3)When the nutrient solution irrigation frequency was T2,the melon fruit shape index is most homogeneous,W3 treatment has maximum fruit weight;W2T3 treatment has the thickest flesh thickness;W1T1 treatment’s center soluble solids content as high as 11.4%,compared with W3T3 treatment increased by 17.5%.W1T2 treatment has the highest water use efficiency,was 23.16 kg·m-3.(4)To sum up,in the actual production,summer and fall melon of substrate culture of the nutrient solution amount should be W1 treatment,the nutrient solution irrigation frequency is 1 or 2 times a day is best.That is the vegetative growth stage of the melon in nutrient solution amount for each plant 500 ml every day,during the blossom period the nutrient solution amount is double,the nutrient solution irrigation frequency is 1 or 2 times everyday.2 Effect of the nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency on growth and development of pepper under substrate cultivation(1)Different treatment had a remarkable impact of pepper plant height and stem diameter;W3T2 treatment pepper plant height is highest,compared with the W1T1 treatment it has increased 18.41%,W3T3 treatment pepper stem diameter is 23.62 mm,has significantly higher than other treatment.Net photosynthetic rate is shown as:W3 treatment>W2 treatment>W1 treatment,the same nutrient solution amount and different nutrient solution irrigation frequency was no significant difference.(2)W3T2 treatment pepper has maximum leaf conductivity;W1T2 treatment’s POD enzyme activity is highest,and the proline is the highest 249.95 ug/g.When the nutrient solution amount is W2,the root activity was maximizing,the total root surface area of W3T1 treatment was 754.54 cm3,followed by W3T2 treatment.(3)W3T3 treatment have the largest fruit weight,was 93.5 g,compared with W1T1 treatment,it has increased by 18.35%;When the nutrient solution amount was W2,it can improve the nutritional quality of pepper.The W3T2 treatment has highest production,was 282.150 kg,compared with W1T1 treatment production increased by 58.03%.The difference treatment of WUE is small.(4)In all,in the winter and spring pepper crop under substrate culture,the seedling stage of the nutrient solution amount is 500 ml per day in every pepper plant,flowering period is double,the fruit while period is 1500 ml every day per plant;For nutrient solution irrigation frequency is 3 times a day during whole growth period,namely in this experimental conditions for the best nutrient solution amount and nutrient solution irrigation frequency is W3T2 treatment.
