It was imminent for people to research and produce alternative products to take the place of antibiotics for their long-term use or even abuse, which created serious consequences. With the advantages of broad antibacterial spectrum,no resistance,no residue as well as immunity enhancement, antibacterial peptides show a wide range of potential application prospects in livestock breeding. In this paper, the applying feasibility of antibacterial peptides was discussed,in order to explore the best doses at the stages of sows' late pregnancy and weaned piglets by adding different doses of antimicrobial peptides in their diets by comparing antibacterial peptides with traditional antimicrobials, analysing the the advantages and characteristics of antibacterial peptides and forecasting their future applications(especially in pig production),we conducted the experiment. In the experiment, three percent and five percent of antibacterial peptides were added to the basal diets of of sows at their late pregnancy and made a coparison with Control Group A,which fed only on basal diets, for 40 days,to observe their constipation and reproductive performances. The piglets were weaned at the age of 30 days, adding three percent and five percent of antibacterial peptides to their basal diets accordingly, and made a coparison with Control Group B,who fed on basal diets, for 30 days,to observe the results of production performance, diarrhea, body resistance and economic benefits, etc. The results showed that the antibacterial peptides could lower the rate of sow constipation, but the effect was not significant;and they could significantly increase the piglets birth weight, the number bom alive, the number born healthy and the rate of healthy piglets(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the above parameters by adding the amount between 3%and 5%in weaned piglets(P>0.05);Only adding 3%antibacterial peptides could significantly increase the sows' litter sizes(P<0.05);When adding 5%antibacterial peptides,it has no obvious difference the sows' litter sizes(P>0.05).Antibacterial peptides could significantly improve the weight of weaned piglets and the average daily gain(P<0.05),and they could significantly lower the animals' average daily feed intake, feed conversion ratio(P<0.05),however,the amount between 3%and 5%of showed no significant difference in increasing the weight of weaned piglets(P>0.05);Regardless of the adding amount, that means,no matter 3%or 5%,the rate of antibody positive in the serum piglets was higher than that of the control groups, the difference was outstanding(P<0.05);the economic benefits were improved significantly by adding antibacterial peptides to daily ration(P<0.05).Those results can provide a powerful basis for using antibacterial peptides scientifically in pig production.
