| Yinshan rain-fed area is the important production areas of potato in China.However,the potato yield is lower than the national average level due to the lack of irrigation water,therefore exploring new rain-fed potato cultivation models that can efficient use of natural rainfall is the strategy of the region’s development.Previous studies shown that Micro Ridge with Plastic cover and side planting can significantly increased the rain-fed potato yield in Yinshan area.Three comparative treatments was set up in the study,to check the effect on rain-fed potato yield under the cultivation mode,and the mechanism of yield increase was further analyzed by determining photosynthetic characteristics,water use efficiency,yield formation and population construction,which would provide the basis for the application of Micro Ridge with Plastic cover and side planting technology in this area.The main results are as follows:1.Comparing with the other two cultivation modes,Micro Ridge with Plastic cover and side planting could significantly increase the dry matter accumulation and tuber yield.Moreover,the effect of yield increase is more prominent in the year with less precipitation.2.Root length and root surface area and root volume of potato increased in Micro Ridge with Plastic cover and side planting mode,compared with the other two cultivation modes,and promoted the uptake and accumulation of NPK in whole plant,which laid a physiological foundation for the improvement of plant photosynthetic performance.3.The photosynthetic rate of potato leaves and canopy NDVI values were higher than the other two cultivation modes in the tuber initiation and tuber bulking period,but decreased at a slower rate in the late potato developmental stage under Micro Ridge with Plastic cover and side planting than the other cultivation modes,It is beneficial for maintaining the effective photosynthetic time and photosynthetic area under the mode,which laid a foundation for the improvement of production,the effect of unit rainfall on the whole plant RGR(relative growth rate)and rainfall use efficiency were also higher under the mode. |
