| Saline is one of widespread soil types in an accumulation of salts across the world,whose salinity will affect the normal growth of plants.From China’s eastern coastal areas to the inland areas,saline is widely distributed in saline land,but only a small amount of saline lands are reclaimed.Although there is a dense population in the China’s eastern coastal areas,the farmland area per capita is not enough.Through breeding and cultivation of salt tolerant crops in coastal land resources,saline can be partlyexploritated.Silybum marianum(L.)Gaertn.and Mentha haplocalyx Briq.are both salt-tolerant plants.Silybum marianum is one of medicinal crops,and mentha haplocalyx is both medicinal crop and aromatic plant.Through this experiment,it aims to research the growth of silymarin and mint under the conditions of salt stress and vermicompost to make the assessment of silymarin and mint.The results are as follows:1.By measuring the biomass of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx,we found that 5%、15%content of earthworm manure silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx made the best grow.Under 5%earthworm manure treatment,we found that aboveground and underground biomass of silybum marianum increased 240.08%and 128.84%,respectively than control while under 15%earthworm manure treatment,we found that aboverground and underground biomass increased 439.98%and 235.29%,respectively than control.Under 5%earthworm manure treatment,we found that aboveground and underground biomass of mentha haplocalyx increased 269.47%and 72.7%while 15%earthworm manure treatment,we found that aboverground and underground biomass increased 469.39 and 341.09%,respectively.2.Under salt stress,the biomass and water contention of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx,especaially under 4‰ NaCl.After supplying earthworm manure,there is an increase in the biomass of silymarin and mint.Under 1%o NaCl stress,the aboveground weight of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx were increased by 62.16%,85.82%and 39.29%、41.18%after applied in 5%,15%earthworm manure.Under 4‰ NaCl stress,the aboveground weight of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx were increased by 39.45%,40.25%and 57.22%and 59.35 after applied in 5%,15%earthworm manure.3.Under salt stress,the oxygen-scavenging system of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx can be damaged,but can alleviate the activity of antioxidant enzymes by adding earthworm manure to a certain amount.Under 1‰ NaCl stress,earthworm manure treatment will reduce the activity of POD while under 4‰NaCl stress,earthworm manure treatment can improve the activity of POD.Under salt stess,earthworm manure can improve SOD and POD activity in mentha haplocalyx and also improve CAT activity of mentha haplocalyx atleaf but reduced CAT activity of mentha haplocalyx at root.4.Permeability of silybum marianum and mentha haplocalyx are accumulated under low salt stress.In contrast,under the high salt stress,this accumulation stopped.Through adding eatthworm manure,soluble protein under salt stress were improved but praline content were reduced. |
