Toona sinensis is a kind of native tree species widely distributed in China, it does have higher edible, medicinal and timber-used value, but also have excellent disease-resistant ability as a kind of precious fast-growing afforestation tree-species. It is one of the preferred tree species of afforestation and greening in low mountains and hills area. Applying the advanced breeding technique of container nursery can cultivate excellent strong seeding of Toona sinensis, enhance the survival rate of afforestation with Toona sinensis and promote the promotion of Toona sinensis in afforestation and greening. This research conducts breeding trial of container seeding of Toona sinensis in Mingshan District, Ya’an, Sichuang Province.taking Bashanhong toona sinensis as raw material and processes the container seeding of Toona sinensis with different substrate formula, fertilizer type and fertilizing amount. After cultivating for 120 days to the container seeding of Toona sinensis, measure the fresh weight and dry weight on the ground, fresh weight and dry weight underground, nutrient, chlorophyll and root activity aiming at discussing the effects of matrix formulation and fertilizer to the quality of the nursery plants of the container seeding of Toona sinensis. The main research results were as follows:(1) The breeding effects of different matrix formulation to the container seeding of Toona sinensis is obvious. Seeing from the accumulation of biomass and morphological index of quality of the container seeding of Toona sinensis, the one with the most prominent performance is the nursery plant bred by J5 matrix (nursery soil:grass carbon:vermiculite=1:0.5:0.5); The physicochemical properties of J5 matrix are not performed so prominently in the six matrixes, but the effects of J5 matrix to the physiological index of the container seeding of Toona sinensis are higher than other matrixes, which can enhance the accumulation of nutrients material of breeding plants, improve the root activity of breeding plants. All kinds of indexes are increased more than J1 matrix(nursery soil) and most of differentiation reach obvious level, which instructs that J5 matrix formulation is the matrix formulation that is the properest to be the local container seeding of Toona sinensis. The container seeding of Toona sinensis bred by J4 matrix (nursery soil:vermiculite=1:0.5) has no obvious advantage in quality index and physiological index than J1 matrix(nursery soil) and neither of them reach obvious level in the comparison of differentiation in many indexes.(2) Generally speaking, moderate fertilization can improve the accumulation of nursery plants’ biomass obviously and has certain enhancement effect to forms such as the seeding height, ground diameter, protein content, etc. and physical index, but excessive fertilization will affect the adsorption of seeding’ root system to nutrient and then affect the growth of the seeding; Under the condition of the same fertilization amount, the effects of sloe release fertilizer are better than urea obviously; When the fertilizing amount of sloe release fertilizer is 3.0kg·m-3, the quality morphological index and physical index are better relatively; When the fertilizing amount is 3.5kg· m-33, both kinds of fertilizer perform inhibition functions with different degree to the growth of nursery seeding, So sloe release fertilizer3.0kg·m-3 is the best fertilizing choice and fertilizer amount for the container seeding of Toona sinensis.(3) It can be best to reflect the quality of the nursery plants to see the accumulation of biomass of plants from the 15 morphology quality including fresh weight of single plant, dry weight of single plant, fresh weight on the ground, fresh weight underground, seeding height, ground diameter, main root length, height diameter ratio, contents of soluble sugar, starch content, protein content, root activity, chlorophyll, etc. and variation range of physiological factors, then is the root activity and ground diameter; The three factors of fresh weight of single plant, ground diameter and fresh weight on the ground have the most prominent performance in relevant analysis, which instructs that the more ordinary reflection of the disadvantages of the three factors; Generally speaking, evaluating the quality of the container seeding of Toona sinensis shall set phenotypic index such as the fresh weight of single plant and ground diameter as main reference index and it is better to combine physical indexes such as contents of soluble sugar, contents of starch and contents of protein comprehensively.
