In order to comprehensively understand the present situation of home gardening development in Handan City,this paper investigates and researches the family home gardening market,household gardening activities states and home gardening planting mode in Handan City through questionnaire,field visits and professor interviews in detail.The main conclusions are as follows:1?In Handan,the market of home gardening is slow development.According to the survey,the various products in horticultural markets of handan is in the high repetition rate,the rate is 86.72%,and is mainly ordinary potted plants and other primary products,but feature products,novel way of planting and decoration in the form of products is less.Horticultural market sales season is obvious,the Spring Festival is to most active in one year and the strong period of the annual sales,the day from March to November after the Spring Festival is in a long-term downturn.As a result,the market is less robust.2?Handan city residents' enthusiasm to participate in family gardening activities is not high,consumer awareness is weak,so as the understanding of home gardening and related skills.Among the respondents,households with no gardening activities account for 21.30% of the households surveyed.The main reason for not engaged in family gardening activities is that they are not interested in and can not manage.In horticultural households,they buy horticultural products within one year of the frequency in less than two times accounted for 61.17%,a year for the purchase of home gardening products in the amount of less than 200 yuan accounted for80.24%.The data indicate Handan City Residents' weakly consumer awareness,low consumption spending and purchasing power.Among the respondents,the preference for plant type was single,accounting for 60.11%.72.43% of the residents encountered knowledge and technical difficulties in the process of family gardening activities,and51.85% wish could get free technical advice.so the lack of knowledge and knowledge of horticulture is a common phenomenon.3?Handan City's home gardening planting model is traditional,single,layout is still stuck in a simple stage of flower cultivation,failed to full play the role of modern family gardening.Mainly in: In respondents,the location of plant placement is75.31% of the balcony,indoor accounted for 62.55%,only 7.40% of people choose to hang on the wall or other combination way for space arrangementl.In the survey ofcultivation methods,planting and furnishings accounted for 92.50%,only 16.07% of residents choose to use someting which has the function of decoration facilities for plant cultivation and furnishings,4.00%~7.00% of residents choose water cultivated or soilless cultivation mode.More residents stay in the use of a single planting mode for horticultural plant cultivation.They lack flexibility to select a variety of planting patterns,and also fail to plant the decorative role of space.4?The limited living space limites the development of the family gardening too.According to the survey: in respondents,the size of family living area around 100m2 is accounting for 66.96%;and the highest proportion is three generations of families,accounting for 44.26%;30.04% residents say indoor space hinders the development of home gardening.Therefore,generally narrow living space and many people in the family of handan limite the further development of home gardening.The main factors influence the household gardening activities in Handan city are the consumption concept and consciousness,lack of horticultural knowledge and consumption common sense,lack of corresponding cultural atmosphere and market guidance,the objective factors are directly related to living conditions.The paper put forward the viable feasibility from the three aspects of residents' consumption,government support and market guidance.Simultaneously according to the results of the survey and combined with relevant theory and principle of the research the papers cheme out four planting and decorative pattern for the residents in Handan area to carry out home garden planting.They are container planting mode,multi-layer planting mode,three-dimensional planting mode and soilless cultivation planting mode.According to the function,space size and structure of different space,the practical application of different space has carried on the analysis of actual case and instructions.
