The first assembly plant of first tractor company limited was founded in Dec. 1952. It was one of the 156 Key Construction Projects built during the First Five-Year Plan Period. At present, the first assembly plant is an important manufacturing base of Chinese caterpillar tractor and its deformation products. Its produce power is between the main 29.4~161.8KW. The main products include dry agricultural crawler tractors, crawler tractors, paddy frame wheeled tractors, agricultural vehicles, agricultural bulldozer, self-propelled hydraulic machinery plant. The transmission case as an important component of agricultural machine, it reflects the quality and reliability of products.At present, the first assembly plant has more than 10 production lines. Under the condition of planned economy, it construct some production line, including gearbox production line, rear axle production line, track roller production line, roller guide wheel production line, slider bar production line, shifting fork production line, drive wheel production line production line. However, these lines are only suitable for the production line of single varieties and large quantities, without flexible production. At present, the main market demand is many varieties of small batch production pattern. In recent years, a variety of models isn' t adapted to developed is not in the original production line production, so, we need to build a flexible production line with various varieties of processing. It plans to carry out the tractor transmission case flexible machining line for gaining experience. At present,we need to build a tractor transmission case flexible machine line.it can meet the production of many varieties and can cover the 29.4-161.8KW crawler tractor and some wheeled tractor gearbox housing.Three schemes were discussed according to the economic, flexibility and sustainable development in the construction of the production line. In order to avoid the unnecessary waste because of the mistakes on scheme selection, the scientific method was used to analyze the technical and economic evaluation. The paper analyzed market, economic risk, and process scheme of crawler tractor gearbox shell production line. Analytic hierarchy process and economic indicators analysis methods were used to determine which process is more reasonable. The method provides the scientific basis on final scheme selection, and the construction scheme selection of other production lines.
