| Steering knuckle is one of the important parts in the steering axle assembly of wheat combine harvester. Combine harvester in a variety of different road conditions for harvesting activities. In order to realize the function of steering and other functions in the operation of the harvester, steering knuckle bearing the weight of the front body of the harvester, and bear the torque in the steering process. Therefore, the steering knuckle may be a failure problem in a lot of harvesting operations,it may affect the normal production operations. According to the company on the market research, we found that the failure form of the steering knuckle shaft and cone axis of the intensity theory and some test. What is more, a finite element analysis was made on the welded joint of the rocker arm which is easy to fall off. Finally, the main reasons for the failure of the steering knuckle and the improvement of the structure and welding technology were also made. The strength of steering knuckle joint was improved effectively. Finally it meets the actual production needs. The research results of this paper were as follows:Three cases based on the failure of steering knuckle, the steering knuckle of the vertical shaft and cone axis for the strength analysis and check were taken, the steering knuckle kingpin itself strength performance, and it were found that the steering knuckle cone shaft is difficult to meet the fatigue load. Through the finite element analysis method, the position of the stress concentration of the steering knuckle was found. For the three failure forming of the steering knuckle, structural optimization of steering knuckle and improvement of welding process. The improved vertical shaft and cone shaft were analyzed and checked the strength theory. The depth, hardness and fatigue property of the rocker arm after the welding process were improved. Finally, the effectiveness of the steering knuckle structure and welding process was verified. |
