In recent years,the phenomenon of continuous cropping in flue-cured tobacco,excessive application of fertilizer and small amount of farm manure,caused soil acidity increasing,the deterioration of soil physical and chemical properties of tobacco planting,and decreased quality of tobacco leaf and style characteristics.Therefore,it is a challenge to improve the physical and chemical properties of tobacco planting soil and the quality of tobacco leaf.In order to study the effects of biochar to acidic soil physical and chemical properties,the growth of tobacco and quality of flue cured tobacco,we conducted a field experiment using two application methods,one is biochar application at once and the other is continuous application,in Chongqing Hongyun Honghe tobacco Corporation,Shizhu Nanbin base unit in 2014-2015.1.Biochar application can reduce soil bulk density,increase total soil porosity and10-20 cm soil moisture content and improve the soil physical and chemical properties and biological characteristics.With the increase of the amount of biochar,the total soil porosity,water content,organic matter content,p H value,MBC,MBN,microbial biomass are all increased,bulk density decreased.Continuous application of biochar is better than application biochar at once in all aspects except soil moisture content under 0-10 cm.2.The tobacco root volume,root fresh weight,root dry weight,maximum leaf area,leaf area ratio,plant height and stem circumference can increase,the incidence rate of tobacco plant was decrease when applying biochar at once that year,the better treatment is T3-1.With the increase of the amount of biochar,the incidence rate of tobacco plant was also decreased,The growth of root volume,fresh weight,plant height,stem circumference and maximum leaf area of tobacco plants was inhibited in the early stage,promoting in the medium and latter stages,The leaf area coefficient showed the trend of early inhibition,medium promotion and late inhibition when application of biochar at once the following year and continuous application of biochar.Compared with application biochar at once,continuous application of biochar can decrease the incidence of tobacco,the root dry weight increased;the root volume,fresh weight,maximum leaf area,plant height,stem circumference increased in the middle and late period,leaf area coefficient decreased in the later stage.3.Biochar can improve the high class leaf proportion,production value,average price and cigarette smoking quality,The amount of 9t/hm2 at once is the best.The contents of neutral aroma component of C3F?B2F and the smoking quality improving with the increase of the biochar when application of biochar at once the following year and continuousapplication of biochar,the best biochar application dosage is 6t/hm2,The content of neutral aroma compounds of C3 F ? B2 F increased 3.63% and 4.11% respectively,evaluation of smoking quality improved 115.38%and 80% respectively compared with control treatment.Biochar application can increase the content of K+ and Cl-,and decrease the content of nicotine of the upper leaves.Biochar can improve the physical and chemical properties of soil,increase the economic output value of flue-cured tobacco,reduce the incidence of tobacco.The growth and development of tobacco plant could be promoted with the use of biochar at once that year.The growth and development of tobacco plant showed promotion in the medium and late stage,the contents of neutral aroma component of C3 F ? B2 Fand the smoking quality improving with the increase of the biochar when application of biochar at once the following year and continuous application of biochar.The contents of neutral aroma substances of C3 F and B2 F is the highest when biochar dosage is 6t/hm2.The quality of the unblended cigarette and contents of neutral aroma component was improved when biochar application at once compared with the continuous application of biochar.The coordination of conventional chemical components of flue cured tobacco can be improved by applying the appropriate amount of biochar at once or continuous application of biochar.
