Growth And Photosynthetic Characteristics And Fruit Quality Evaluation Of Excellent Strains Of Ziziphus Jujuba ‘Huizao'

Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao' in the process of industrialization, appeared plant variability, manifested differences as fruit size, shape and flavor and so on. To excavate and utilize the excellent characteristics of the variation, taked three excellent strains of Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao'(gray experiment 2, gray experiment 7 and gray experiment 8) primariesed by Xinjiang Academy of Forestry as the research object, Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao' as control, combined methods of field investigation with indoor measurement, analysed and evaluated growth characteristics, photosynthetic characteristics during fruit enlargement period and fruit qulity of three excellent strains and control. Screened comprehensive excellent quality of new lines at last. The main results were as follows:Gray experiment 2 not only met the breeding goal of big fruit,high and stable yield,but also the fruit quality was more excellent. The growth kept in good condition, the plant was tall and strong, the leaves was large and thick, the chlorophyll content was higher and the single plant yield was significantly higher than Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao' and other excellent strains.It had the greatest photosynthetic potential, the light compensation point was low but the light saturation point was high. It had the strongest ability to use the weak light and the best adaptability to strong light, recovered faster after suffering photoinhibition. Fruit quality got the highest composite scores, fruit size was larger, edible rate and sugar content were higher. In addition, the reducing Vc, soluble protein, iron and zinc levels were higher.Although the fruit size of gray experiment 7 was large,but lacked the potential of high yield, the fruit quality improved partly. The growth kept in good condition, the plant was tall and strong. The photosynthetic capacity followed gray experiment 2,but was better than Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao'. The composite scores of fruit quality followed gray experiment 2, had a large fruit, small nuclear, the highest edible rate and a higher sugar content. At the same time,the content calcium and manganese were to the highest.Gray experiment 8 fruit was small and the yield was low,but the content of some indexes in the fruit showed excellent. The growth was a poor condition, the plant was dwarf and weak, the leaves was small and thin, the chlorophyll content was lower.The photosynthetic capacity of gray experiment 8 was poor, the light compensation point was high but the light saturation point was low. The tolerance to weak light and strong light were poor, and the mechanism of self-protective launched slowly, would be hurt easily. The composite scores of fruit quality was lowest,but was higher than Ziziphus jujuba ‘Huizao'.The fruit size was small, the edible rate and sugar-acid ratio were low, but the content of flavonoids, potassium, magnesium and copper were to the highest.
