China has a large population which accounts for a quarter of the world's population, but China's per capita farmland is only 2/5 of the world's average level. With the rapid development of society, contradiction between people and land is growing acute, it brings increasing pressure to land resources under the background of rapidly growing population and rapid economic development. Governments, international organizations and scientists are focus on this problem. Farmland is the essence of land, it is the basic of food production, and also is the basic of human activities, material production and ecosystem services. In order to ensure the national food and economic security, and maintain the stability and development of society, and keep the sustainable development of economic, the protection of farmland is imperative. Therefore, it is necessary to fully ascertain the quality of farmand and its influencing factors of Wusheng County. By which we can adjust the structure of land use and arrange construction projects within the farmland.In this paper, we choose farmland of Wusheng county as the research object, and take the national fertility of farmland evaluation system as rule. Based on the actual situation of the study area, we build evaluation system of the study area by using the Delphi method and determining factor evaluation by Analytical Hierarchy Process. We also established membership evaluation system using fuzzy math method and determine its membership. And combined with GIS, we use multi-factor comprehensive evaluation model to realize the evaluation of Wusheng County farmland. Based on the evaluation, we use grading curve method to divide farmlands into different quality area, and propose the using advice of different quality area. Study results are:(1)We constructed Wusheng County farmland quality evaluation system which including site conditions, profile properties, physical and chemical properties of topsoil, topsoil soil nutrient status, soil management five kinds of indices, effective soil thickness, cross-sectional configuration, landforms, terrain slope, soil p H value, organic matter, available K, effective B, effective Zn, effective P, total N, drainage capacity;(2)We use fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the quality of Wusheng County farmland, and based on the quality of farmland, we divided the farmlands into three levels: first-class level area of 3567.63hm2, accounting for 6.17 percent of the total farmland, second level area of 34692.95hm2, accounting for 59.93% total farmland, third level area of 19626.04hm2, accounting for 33.90 percent of the total farmland;(3)We propose the using advice of different quality area in order to provide basis for Wusheng County farmlands' protection strategy. It also can provide a reference for the promotion of arable soil and the improvement of soil fertility in the study area.
