Currently, the main method for the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in chickens include chemical synthetic drugs and immune vaccine. However, the use of anti-coccidial drugs has been greatly restricted with the continual emergence of drug-resistance, the drug residues, the public concern of safety in animal foodstuff. Further since the inter-coccidia specificity and complexity of the immune mechanism, the use of coccidiosis vaccine prone to immune failure and other problems, a serious impediment to the effective application of immunization.Probiotiics for its non-toxic side effects, no resistance, no residue, low cost and obvious effect,gradually have received approval from a large number of breeding fraternity. Probiotics as an emerging industry, can prevent the pathogenic bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract engraftment, adjust gastrointestinal tract micro ecological balance and micro environment, to improve the body's metabolism, enhance the digestion and absorption of nutrients, improve the anti-stress ability of the gastrointestinal system, and stimulate the immune system,enhance immunity and disease prevention and control, promote the healthy and improve the production performance. Therefore, the research and development of probiotics has great potential and broad prospects. Studies have shown that adding probiotics in broilers infected with virulent coccidia oocysts in drinking water, can reduce the severity of cecal lesions,reducing coccidiosis in chickens influence weight gain, reduce mortality and morbidity chicken, reduce coccidiosis in chickens caused economic losses.
