The objective of this study was to determine the nutritional value of soybean hulls(SH)for rabbits, evaluate the use of soybean hulls(SH) in the diets of growing meat rabbits by examining on its effect on the growth performance, carcass traits, gastrointestinal tract development and caecum fermentation. To determine the reasonable amount, provide the basis for the scientific design of diet in rabbits.1. The determination of the chemical composition of soybean hulls and nutritional value evaluationRoutine analysis for determination of chemical composition in soybean hulls, digestion experiment was carried out to determine the chemical composition in the dung, to calculate the nutrient digestibility, through algorithm consists calculated digestible components, to determine the feeding value of rabbit. The content of the total energy(GE), dry matter(DM),crude protein(CP), crude fiber(CF), neutral detergent fiber(NDF), acid detergent fiber(ADF), crude fat(EE), calcium(Ca), and phosphorus(P) for Soybean Hulls( SH) are16.01MJ/kg, 92.59%, 9.53%, 40.49%, 66.84%, 47.34%, 0.94%, 1.67%, 0.70%, 0.18%. The apparent digestibility(%) of total energy(GE), dry matter in(DM), crude protein(CP), crude fiber(CF), neutral detergent fiber(NDF), acid detergent fiber(ADF), crude fat(EE), calcium(Ca), and phosphorus(P) for soybean hulls are 56.63%, 53.87%, 73.22%, 16.21%, 23.53%,15.68%, 15.46%, 78.92%, 49.68%, 40.18%.2. The influence of dietary SH level on growing meat rabbit rabbitsA total of 160 only 35 days old with similar weight healthy rabbit, and were randomly divided into 4 treatment(40 per treatment, and each treatment was 1). Test diets were fed with diets supplemented with 0, 5%, 10%, and 20% soybean hulls, respectively. There was a pretrial period of 7 d followed by an experimental period of 43 d. The results showed as follows: The dietary SH level had no impact on the ADG(P>0.05), had a significant effect on the ADI(P<0.05)and F/G(P<0.01). Hot carcass weight, dressing percentage, p H, L, a*, b*, 24 h drip loss were not affected(P>0.05). The dietary SH level had significant impacts on SW,SW/LW(P<0.05),had no significant effects on SIW, SIW/LW, SIL, CW, CW/LW(P>0.05).had no significant effects on stomach content weight, stomach content relative weight(P>0.05), had significant impacts on cecum content weight, cecum content relative weight(P<0.01); Effect of jejunum VH, CD, VH/CD, ileum VH, CD were not significant(P>0.05),but had a significant impact on VH/CD of the ileum(P<0.05); The dietary SH level had no impacts on jejunum, ileum maltase and sucrase live(P>0.05), with the level elevated,it had a significant impact on cecal p H(P<0.05) and total VFA concentration(P<0.01), it can significantly reduce the mole ratio of acetic acid to(P>0.05). To sum up, the highest in the diet of growing rabbits can add 10% soybean hulls.
