?-carotene are ubi quitous in nat ure c olored plants, is a common food addi tives and colorants. Research shows t hat beta carotene has validated animal aging res istance, promote animal gr owt h, enhance anima l i mmune functions and the function were a large number of expe riment s, but the beta carotene in vivo studies on digesti ve met abolism is more the l ack of animal. The purpose of this resear ch is t o study the dietary beta carotene in the rat, gil ts,pregnancy in vivo absorption rate of digestion and metabolism of sows, and feed a dd beta ca rotene effect on immune funct ion and pr oducti on performance of pregnant sows, beta ca rotene a s functional feed a dditives provide t heoret ica l foundation to promote the production performance of sows and newborn piglets be ta ca rotene, for in vivo studies in animal di gestion metabol ism pr ovides practical significance. In t his experiment, SD ra ts were selec ted, gilts and pr egnant sows as t he r esearch obje ct, respectively, of ?-carotene in SD rats, gilts and pregna nt sows in vivo di gestibilit y, and studies of ?-carotene on the pregnancy sow litter i nfluenc e growth performance. The res ults show that: the rat, gilts we r e not det ected in blood and urine bet a carotene, and the dete cted i n fe ces of beta carotene, tha t?-carotene mainly in the i ntestinal di gestion and abs orption; and ?- carotene groups of rats, gilts and the content of emodin in pregnant sows fecal bet a carrot and signific antly hi gher than that in control group(P<0.01) t han that of the control group. By the calculation of adding rat add 50mg/Kg beta carotene in vivo digestibility and me tabolism of rat rate was54.78%, w hil e in the gilts ad ded me tab olic effici enc y of 500mg/d beta carotene was 92. 35%,the pre gnancy sow ha lf month group of ?-car otene di gestion rate was 87.4%, one month group digestion rate of 88.54%. To illus trat e, r eserve sows using beta carotene has the highest effic iency. Beta carotene on the effect of adding pregnant sow to sow serum IgA i n pregnancy, prenatal seve n days half a month, the level of IgA group and a month in serum in2, 3, 4, 5, 6 days are highe r tha n those of control group, shows tha t beta carotene play enha ncing immu nity function. In 3, 4, 5, 6 days, the r esult is j ust t he opposite, this is by the Fed with bet a carotene can enhance blood IgA to sow pregnancy in breast milk transport and enha nce the resi stance of newborn piglets caused b y. Compared with the control group, beta ca rotene add key Zi rate and we aning a mont h group litter weight wer e significantly hi gher than that in the control group, and the mor tality rate was significantly lower than the c ontrol group(P<0.05); whil e t here was no si gnificant difference be tween the half month group a nd the other two gr oups of pregnant sows, t hat one month ahead fed beta carotene ca n improvethe production pe r for mance of pregnant sows. However, this study found that ?-ca rotene c an be rats, gilts, pregnant sows usi ng,including preparation of sows after the highest efficiency with the lowest utilization effi ciency, rats. And the pregnant sows added beta car otene, can improve the pr oducti on performance of pregnant sows, pi glet s ca n increase the rate of he althy bir th a nd weaning weight of piglet s, significantly re duced the period from birth to weaning mortality.
