Since the beginning of 1980s, the architectural energy efficiency has been popularized in China. After the recent twenty years' development, a lot of technological and practical achievements and experience in such aspects have been gained in the north China. But when it comes to the hilly regions, where the climate is special and the thermal environment is so abominable, there is still in the pilot study on energy efficiency.According to lots of literatures?the nature?resource and technology conditions and the existing problems of the dwelling houses chosen as the study carrier in hilly regions, some studies were carried on as follows by adopting investigation and on-site test method in order to create modem energy-saving buildings with local color.(1)The design method of energy-saving buildings harmonious with environment was studied, the housetop virescence's effect on the energy-saving was analyzed, and some virescence measures in details were put forward. The methods on how to improve the comfort degree in the dwelling houses by pure natural or machine-assisted ventilation and solar energy, were expatiated on in the paper. The practice of the energy-saving by virescence in Tianqi Garden in Chongqing was analyzed.(2)The heat insulation measures of the surrounding structures were explored, and the reasons why the thermal environment was so abominable were summarized. The gap between China and the developed countries on energy-saving in buildings was analyzed. The heat preservation and insulation technologies adopted in out walls?doors?windows and roofs can save energy by 50?and the method of the west-wall insulation and dehumidify was studied. It come out with results that the out heat preservation was better than inner heat preservation of the out door. It's an ideal solution to grow plants on the roofs by preserving water and to choose the classes with low sunshading coefficient.(3)Choosing ZhuangYuan Mansion as the object, the application and construction design of the energy-saving measures in dwelling houses in hilly regions were discussed completely.Based on the principles of using local materials?adjusting measures to local conditions?low cost and remarkable effect of energy-saving, the technologies and policies on energy-saving in dwelling houses in hilly regions were brought forward finally.
