Since entering the twenty-first Century,with the development of science and technology,the automotive industry have a vigorous development.The number of private cars in China rises nearly every year,but vehicle exhaust also become one of the main culprits for air pollution at the same time.In order to reduce vehicle emissions,strict emission regulations are very effective measures.However,the test driving cycles formulated on China were always draw lessons from European standards.Constructing our own driving cycle is hanging over our head,because the driving cycle in Europe is quite different with the real traffic situation in China.First,this paper introduces the relationship between environment pollution and vehicle emission.It is shown that the construction of driving cycle is one of the most important links in the control of vehicle emission.Meanwhile,it expounds the driving cycle for domestic and international history and current situation.Second,this study takes the driving cycle for light duty vehicles in Taiyuan as an object.It has collected data for 8 light vehicles lasted for a month,through using the vehicle data acquisition equipment which developed by China Automotive Technology Research Center.It has collected 796411 pieces of data through this period of time.The abnormal data in the original data are eliminated and modified by GPS location information and linear interpolation method.After that,the processed data are divided into 2208 kinematic segments,and defined 27 characteristic parameters which are used to describe the kinematic fragments and the sampling population.Finally,the kinematic fragments are analyzed by principal component analysis and K-means clustering analysis through SPSS software.The research based on the Pearson correlation coefficient to construct the driving cycles in Taiyuan.It constructs four kinds of driving cycles,including urban congestion,unobstructed road in urban,suburb,beltway and comprehensive road condition.The validity of the four driving cycles are tested by the method of error analysis and velocity-acceleration joint distribution.It is show that the driving cycles are effective.After the completion of construct the driving cycles,it is compared with the driving cycles of other cities in China.The results of comparison show that the driving cycle for light duty vehicles in Taiyuan is different from it in other cities and it is an essential part of driving cycle in China.To compare with a variety of representative standards in foreign countries,it also shows that the driving cycles from abroad have no way to truly reflect the road traffic situation in China.The model of a light vehicle is established by AVL-Cruise software,its fuel consumption level in NEDC,WLTC and driving cycle in Taiyuan are simulated.The results of simulation show that it is not reasonable to use foreign standard to test the vehicles in China.As a part of vehicle driving cycle in China,the driving cycle for light duty vehicles in Taiyuan plays a positive role to develop our own driving cycle.
