With the rapid development of China’s automobile industry, auto possession isalso experiencing growth at a rapid rate. As of2013, the number of automobileshas exceeded one hundred million which is followed by traffic congestion,environmental pollution, energy shortage, and so on. Because of the differencein auto possession, city structure and driving habits from Europe and the U.S., itis profoundly significant to further study the driving conditions in accordancewith the situation in China.Based on Hefei urban roads as the object of study, this work has determinedthe experiment scheme for data acquisition from the urban road driving cycles,defined kinematics sequences, and used11characteristic parameters forcharacterizing ride characteristics.Principal component analysis has been used to process kinematics sequences.The modified FCM Clustering method has been adopted to establish drivingcycle in Hefei through selecting appropriate kinematics sequences. The resultsindicate that the modified FCM Clustering method possesses a sound precisonfor establishing driving conditions which can well reflect the practical urbantraffic conditions in comparison with the traditional FCM Clustering method.Based on the study above, a vehicle model has been built from urbanpassenger cars by CRUISE. In order to verify the accuracy of vehicle model andHefei driving cycle, fuel economy and dynamic performance simulation havebeen conducted for large passenger cars using Hefei driving cycle as thestandard conditions. Speed and final ratio suitable for Hefei has been obtained bycombing iSIGHT with CRUISE for the simulation, which provides the referencefor designing the related products.
