Power semiconductors mainly include power semiconductor devices,power integrated circuits and power modules generated by the combination of both.Its applications include transportation,aerospace,medical,industrial control and LED/LCD driver,etc.As a research direction of power semiconductor,motor drivers is always a research hotspot because of the importance of motor in the national economy.How to improve the performance of motor driver under the premise of ensuring high reliability is the key issue for research on motor driver.On the other hand,with the development of power semiconductor technology,the motor driver is also developed by the original split drive circuit in the direction of the higher integration power module.In a word,smaller area,lower energy consumption and higher power are the development trend of power module.This paper focuses on and designs a small power brushless dc motor driver chip.The motor driver chip can be used to drive a small power brushless dc motors below 5A.The chip encapsulates the driver chip,the bootstrap diode and the half bridge on an IC,which greatly improves the integration and reliability of the system.The chip is integrated with a more robust logic protective function,whic includes over current protection,over temperature protection and under voltage lockout.And it has the function of error logic output,which can be used for external buzzer or feedback the motor operation state information to the MCU,and the error logic output signal pulse width can be adjusted.On the other hand,the input signal is compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic level,and the highest level is 20 V.The chip operating voltage ranges from 10 to 20 V,with dc power supply voltage up to 600 V.In this paper,the application field and parameters of the motor driver chip are described.Secondly,the system architecture was proposed based on the requirements of the system.And the reliability of the system was analyzed and designed baseed on the system architecture.Then it designs the sub-modules of the motor driver chip.Finally,based on the CSMC 600 V BCD process,the simulation of the chip was described.And the simulation results show that the reliability analysis and design of the chip are all accurate.
