It has replaced too many traditional lighting sources because of the strength of LED lighting, like higher reliability, energy saving and easy control etc. As one of key elements of LED lighting system, the electrical parameters and performance design of LED electronic driver is very important to LED lighting. Good or bad design of LED electronic driver will directly affect the key if the whole LED lighting system can demonstrate its advantage.Today, the competition of LED lighting is very sharp. Most output power of designed LED drivers in market is not very high, less than 100 W, because of the pressure of product cost and reliability. Such products are restricted to be used in high lumen required application area and lose its competiveness in the market.Because of the global technical barrier which is from the difference of infrastructure, law, standard and regulation in different countries, lots of manufacturers of LED electronic driver only can focus on one specific country and design one specific product to access the market. Such highly targeted products, the limitation of them is very obvious and the market competition is very weak. It often loses the advantage to access others markets in different countries in the world.The article proposes one possibility to design one high power(150W) LED electronic driver to access the global market. By interpreting and analyzing the requirements and differences of the published laws and safety standards for LED electronic driver between two main standard systems(one is North America countries which is leaded by the United States, and another one is most countries in the world which is leaded by IEC) in the world, like EMC, THD of input current and product safety, the EMC filter plus APFC and plus LLC resonance circuit is adopted finally as the design approach.
