Semi-rigid base asphalt pavement was widely used in China for its cost saving and practicability.However,the main problems of pavement failure applying in Shaanxi province were contribute to shortage of quality aggregates,rutting and fracture.The new road structure was proposed in this research by increasing the middle layer thickness as well as decreasing the top layer thickness.The economic top layer was constructed by making full use of low-cost local aggregate.In order to improve the rutting and fracture of semi-rigid base pavement as well as solve the environment pollution,the middle layer was constructed by making full use of waste tires and industrial solid waste.The rubber asphalt with decomposition additive and other processing technology were applied in the top layer.The industrial solid waste and its additive MYF were applied in the middle layer.The research achievement was applied in the pavement construction project,the feasibility and construction technology were studied in the project.Through investigation and research more than one highway pavement diseases in Shaanxi province,the main pavement diseases and factors were analyzed.The pavement design method of “Strong middle layer with economic top layer” was proposed in this research.The preparation technology,pavement performance indexes and mechanical properties were studied.Results show that the rubber asphalt would be well prepared by adding 20 percent rubber particles,4‰ modifier and stirring in 190?.The factors influence the performance of top layer including key screen size,interlayer bonding state,asphalt types and additive content.By studying the different processing technology,the additive agent type and dosage of asphalt mixture of road performance,under the condition of dry process and wet process was studied the influence of the right to use,type and dosage of the additive agent right in performance and the influence of mechanical properties.Results show that the use by adding 3‰~4‰ modifier,the well performance mixture could obtained.The pavement design method of “Strong middle layer with economic top layer” was applied in the pavement construction project.The result indicated that the pavement design method proposed in this research applied in the project effectively with the good economic and environment benefit.
