Determination of the grain geometry is an important and critical step in the design of solid propellant rocket motors,due to that the accurate calculation of grain geometrical properties plays a very important role in performance prediction.The later in the solid rocket motor,can be achieved easily if the process and burning area means of the grain are known.In this thesis,for different types of a given solid propellant,several slots types(radial,longitudinal)are designed.Our purpose in this work,is to determine the right and most suitable optimized slots main dimensions in the grain in a single chamber multi-thrust solid rocket motor SRM.For that firstly,a mathematical model for the geometry of the slot called Objective function is found for each one.Secondly,the set of optimization conditions and initial parameters for the optimization process.Thirdly,a code is realized by Matlab software to do the optimization and main slot parameters(slot length,slot depth and slot arc radius),are found than to be discussed as a result some conclusions are gotten.Finally,a brief study is applied on a star grain and some ballistic parameters are determined.
