| A large number of asphalt pavements have suffered from aging and deterioration for the past few years in China because of environmental effect and heavy traffic.During the maintenance of asphalt pavement,a considerable amount of reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP)will be produced,and also a lot of new materials will be used.An effective method to recycle the RAP and reduce the use of fresh asphalt mixtures is to regenerate the aged asphalt of the RAP.However,many existing regenerants show less effect on the aged asphalt due to the incompatibility among aged asphalt,regenerant and fresh asphalt,resulting in a low recycling rate of the RAP.Moreover,some regenerants with better performance are expensive,resource-wasting and environment polluted,which is not in agreement with the going green and environmental protection concept.Based on the component allocation theory,three compound regeneration agents(CRA-1、CRA-2 、 CRA-3)with high performance,environmental protection and low cost were prepared using different wastes.The physical,aging and penetrating properties of the CRAs were evaluated.The chemical component of the CRAs was analyzed.The compound regenerated asphalts were prepared via melt blending method,and their physical,rheological and aging properties were investigated.The mix design of compound regenerated asphalt mixtures was conducted using the CRA-3 as regenerant.The high-temperature stability,low-temperature crack resistance and water stability of the compound regenerated asphalt mixtures were evaluated.At the end,the application technology of the compound regenerated asphalt mixtures was investigated relying on the relying on the engineering project.The results show that the CRA-3 with low viscosity,excellent anti-aging and penetrating properties can be obtained when the ratio of reclaimed engine oil: waste vegetable oil: penetrating agent: viscosity modifier is 70: 20: 6: 4.The CRA-3 can not only regenerate the physical and rheological properties of the aged asphalt effectively,but also enhance the aging resistance of the compound regenerated asphalt.The high-temperature stability,low-temperature crack resistance and water stability of the compound regenerated asphalt mixtures can be improved obviously with the addition of CRA-3.The CRA-3 can not only be used for regenerating RAP of different gradings,but also be effective when the amount of RAP is large.The properties of the aged asphalt can be recovered to the level of fresh asphalt when the amount of CRA-3 is 15%.At this condition,the performance of the compound regenerated asphalt mixture meets the requirement of related technical specification.The actual project application effect and the economy are good. |
