With the rapid development of the global automobile industry and the people's awareness of safety are raising gradually,windshield cleaner of car has become the necessities of daily maintenance of car.Portable windshield cleaner is a new kind of solid effervescent tablet,it has been rapidly developed in recent years due to its advantages,such as smaller volume,easy to carry and the excellent cleaning effect.Therefore,it has a better application.Based on several kinds of portable windshield cleaner sample on the market,this paper investigates the functional groups and the content of inorganic elements in these samples by IR and the XRF,thus some active ingredients could be predicted.Based on the characterization results,combined with related literature and patents,the components in portable windshield cleaner of car are determined as anionic surfactant,defoamer,disintegrating agent,pH modifier,corrosion inhibitor and hard water modifier,etc.According to the GB/T 23436-2009 “the technical requirements and test methods of the windshield cleaning fluid for automobile”,each ingredient of windshield cleaning fluid is reasonably chosen,and its type and content is determined.The aim of this paper is to develop the novel kind of portable windshield cleaner of car whose clean performance could meet the requirements of national standard,and has cheap price.Therefore,the mass fraction of surfactant in formula of portable windshield cleaner is preset as 10%,with the 1:4 ratio of sodium dodecyl sulfate to sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid.Since sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid in the process of dissolving into water and cleaning windshield are easy to foaming,some type of defoamer,such as the organic silicon defoamer,must be added to eliminate the bubble in the process of dissolving and use of windshield cleaner.Citric acid and sodium carbonate are usually used as disintegrating agent and pH modifier,respectively,and their composition in windshield cleaner formula can be up to 50% and 25% respectively.On the one hand,the violent reaction of citric acid and sodium carbonate can make rapid disintegration of effervescent tablets,and fully soluble in water.On the other hand,the excessive formation of sodium citrate and citric acid by the reaction can constitute the buffer solution of citric acid and sodium citrate,which can effectively adjust the pH of solution,and keep in certain range,further avoid corrosion on automobile parts due to the sharply change of pH of solution.Moreover,the citric acid or citric acid salts can be used as the auxiliary agent to improve the performance of windshield cleaner.The sodium citrate formed by the reaction has the better binding ability with metallic ion,thus it can quickly precipitate the metallic ions in solution,make the dirt and dust dispersion and suspension,and improve the performance of surfactant,usually is used as chelating agent.Besides,sodium citrate has performance of excellent delayed coagulation and stabilization.In addition,the formula of windshield cleaner contains the components of sodium silicate and poly-acrylamide polymer(PAM).The sodium silicate can be used as water softener,auxiliary precipitant and metallic corrosion inhibitor.a small amount,i.e.10~1000?g/g,of PAM can make the extrusive liquid to form the more tightening flow,which is not easy to be wind blown away from the glass,make more liquid to stay within the action scope of the wiper,reduce wind resistance losses.Moreover,the polymer can form a layer of lubrication film on the surface of windshield,lubricate wiper blade,reduce the wear of wiper and prolong the service period of wiper.Besides above mentioned active ingredients,the type and content of some additives,such as pigment,are also determined by this paper.Based on the optimization on the formula of windshield cleaner and evaluation results of its performance,the types of component and composition of windshield cleaner are finally determined.Referred to the optimal formula of windshield cleaner,the novel kind of portable windshield cleaner is developed.It can rapidly dissolve into water and form clear solution.Even using the low concentration solution of cleaner developed by this paper,it can quickly clean the windshield surface and exhibit better cleaning performance.The pH stability,compatibility,thermal stability and low temperature stability of the cleaner solution are better,and the corrosivity on the metallic and plastic parts is both smaller.All the performance of novel cleaner meets the index requirements of the GB/T 23436-2009.It is proved that novel kind of portable windshield cleaner developed by this paper is one kind of effective and cheap cleaner,and it would possess the stronger competitiveness and better application prospect.
