The demands for customization are increasing in today's market.It is important to satisfy the demands of mass customization for the domestic enterprises by using the product family to develop the products.The related product family design methods under mass customization,such as the analysis of customer demands,product commonality components design based on common customer demands,product family design based on commonality components,and product family system design are researched in the paper.The main contents include the following aspects:The customer demands analysis model is constructed.From the point of customer demands,the acquired customer demands are decomposition and standardized.The subjective demand information is transformed into the demand information required for product family design using the Likert scale method,and then the information are parameterized.The factor importance of customer demands are analyzed through factor analysis method.According to the different factor importance of various customer demands,the large degree customer demands are selected as the common customer demands.The quality function deployment(QFD)and product commonality is used to obtain product commonality components.The common customer demands,technical requirements,functional attributes,and structural components of the product are determined,and the QFD method is used to map the common customer requirements to the physical components of the product.The obtained physical components are selected as commonality objects.In order to ensure the effectiveness of the commonality results,the features such as input,output,mass production difficulty,manufacturing cost,processing time,weight,and sales profit of the product are taken as characteristics of commonality objects.Quantitative criteria for each characteristics are proposed to construct a commonality object feature matrix.The SOM algorithm is used to calculate the characteristic matrix to obtain product commonality object clustering results.On this basis,product commonality components meeting the demands of different customers are constructed.The customer groups preferences product configuration and product commonality components are used to establish product family.The product family's construction processis introduced through the definition and characteristics of the product family,and a product family design method based on customer groups is proposed.The K-means algorithm is used to cluster the customers to obtain customer groups to extract customer preferences.According to the customer groups preferences,the multi-objective decision model is formed by the preferences attributes of the customer group,the algorithm is used to obtain the best product configuration that meets the customer's preference and add the product commonality components to get personalized products for different customer,and based on this,a product family based on customer demands is constructed.The product family design system based on customer demands is initially developed.The system includes three parts: customer demands management module,product commonality components management module,and product family management module.Through the analysis of system structure,functions,and requirements,as well as database structure design,the product family design system based on customer demands achieves the required functions.
