The conventional EFP warhead adopts a large cone angle,ball missing type and other charge structures that can only form a single explosively formed projectile.The new armor protection technology puts higher requirements on the damage efficiency of the warhead to meet the needs of modern warfare.In order to meet the needs of a large penetration of the warheads,this paper proposes a new shaped charge structures that can be formed end-to-end series EFP.The kill elements of EFP formed by this structure have the characteristics of high speed and high equivalent length-to-diameter ratio.Its penetration ability has the advantages of high wear depth and large aftereffect.In this paper,based on the structure of EFP shaped charge,a triple sub-caliber hemispherical liner by stacking was designed.The LSDYNA-3D program is used to simulate the EFP process in series EFP.The paper analyzes the key factors that influence the charge structure to form series EFP,such as radius of curvature of liner,total thickness of liner,thickness ratio,charge ratio,and material of liner.On this basis,through the orthogonal experimental design method,the primary and secondary relationships affecting the formation of series EFP with triple sub-caliber hemispherical were discussed.The simulation of optimized structure was conducted by penetrated into the armored steel target plate for numerical simulation and comparative analysis.The three-layer EFP and single-layer and double-layer EFP penetration capabilities under the same structure were analyzed,and the advantages of the three-layer sub-caliber hemispherical charge structure compared to the traditional single-layer and double-layer structures were analyzed.The research shows that:(1)Three series EFP can be formed by using a three-layer liner placed coaxially on the main charge,and the speed and equivalent aspect ratio of the EFP can be effectively increased;(2)In the charge structure parameters,the radius of curvature,the wall thickness of the liner,and the charge height directly determine the parameters of the EFP,such as profile,speed,and aspect ratio;(3)Due to the characteristics of the series EFP forming,it is better to select materials with higher melting point and ductility to obtain the series EFP.By large numbers of comparing and analyzing of the calculation results of the four materials,the paper finally choose carbon steel as the material of the three-layer liners;(4)The shaped charge adopts the optimal choice of structural by applying orthogonal experimental design methods.The structural parameters of the liner were: the inner radius of curvature was 45 mm,the wall thickness of the liner was 1.2mm,and the charge height was 80mm;(5)Penetration of the optimized structure into two armored steel targets was numerically simulated.Comparing the penetration effects of single-layer and double-layer EFP under the same parameters,it can be found that the designed three-layer liner structure has a greater penetration depth and stronger damage performance.
